Chapter 11

Me and Olivia are headed to New York for a couple of days. I'm going to be on the Jimmy Fallon show, go to the Sirius XM studio and be on MTV's TRL that stands for Total Request Now.

My entire band is coming. Olivia's coming and she's really excited. My parents are also coming. Bradley is not coming. He's staying in LA. It's only for three days.

I've learned a few things about Olivia going to NYC since we are there a lot. We have at least one trip here a month. Every time we go she has to go to M and M's world. I don't know why but she always asks to go there. I don't mind I love peanut M and M's. NY is the only place in the world she still needs a stroller. After one block she can't walk anymore and needs someone to carry her (those are her words) And no one likes carrying kids and walking at the same time for long periods of time. It's just like carrying 30 pounds in your arm everywhere. And she also likes being around a lot of people. She's a pretty social kid since she is always around new and different people.

We just arrived and are in our hotel room. Me, Sarah and Olivia are sharing one. We are heading to the Jimmy Fallon show in about two hours.

"Want to go to M and M World and then we meet everyone at the studio from there?" I ask.

"Yeah" Olivia says.

The hotel was only like a block away from there so me, Olivia and Sarah walked there. We started on the first floor. There are four floors in this building. It's huge.

Olivia got her little pressed penny that she gets every time we come. She has about 15 of them just from here. They change the machine out with new designs often.

We went to the second floor and she got a bag of M and M's. They have like the little pull down levers and each one has a different color. We let her do it and she filled almost the entire bag with just three colors. She chose light pink, turquoise and purple.

She also got like a little plastic M and M vending machine type thing. When she picked it up she said to me and Sarah "Now that I have all these I need somewhere to put them in"

"You can put them in your mouth" Sarah says.

"I will but first I need to put them in here" She says and holds up the little vending machine. I love little kids logic.

She got that and then saw a little backpack that was the M and M characters. She insisted that she needed it for every time we go on airplanes. Of course I had to say yes. I spoil her.

We looked around a little more. I found a personalize M and M making machine and I got my own bag of M and M's with my SC logo on it. I got the same pink M and M's that Olivia got and put the logo in red like the Detour sweatshirts.

We also ran into a few fans there and took pictures with them. That always happens where we go. Every time after we leave Olivia asks how they knew her name. I always tell her I don't know. It easier then telling her thousands of people know who she is.

We were there for about a half and hour. After that we went to the studio where they film the Jimmy Fallon show.

I got my own dressing room and then my band shares a room. Sarah is supposed to be apart of the band dressing room but she is in mine more then she is in her own. Olivia was with us too.

We changed and got ready, did the hair and makeup and all that.

We filled up Olivia's new vending machine when we got here. It took about half the bag to fill it so she still had a lot. I think the bag ended up weighing two and a half pounds. 1/4 of the M and M's in the vending machine were gone just from her eating them.

"Stop eating candy." I tell her. I'm not a nutritionist but I'm pretty sure a three year old eating that much candy is not good

"Ok. Just one more" She says and pulls the lever down and puts another little hands full in her mouth.

Then like two minutes later Jimmy Fallon knocks on the door.

"Come in" I yell.

He walks in and we all say hi and hug and stuff.

"Your hosting the show tonight right?" He asks Olivia.

"No I'm watching the show tonight" She says.

"That's not what the script says. It's says this is now The Tonight Show Starring Olivia Carpenter." He says.

"No it's not" She says and giggles.

"You at least going to help me in the beginning right?" He asks.

"No" She says.

"Can I have a M and M?" He asks.

"Yeah" She says and pulls the lever down. About five came out. She took four and put them in her mouth and then gave him just one.

"Yay I finally got a yes out of her" He says and then she hands him the one M and M and he wasn't as excited.

We all laughed. I got a picture with him and then he left.

So he did his show and at the end I went out to preform Why. So that was basically my entire day.
