Chapter 21

Sabrina's POV:

Today it's just me and Olivia, kinda like old times. It's been a week since we set the fish tank up and also since Christmas. Me and Olivia are going to the pet store today to get her fish.

My plan is to get like five fish as tester fish. If they live we will get more and if they die I'll get more in a couple weeks.

Me and Olivia walk into the pet store and right away we were greeted by a employee.

"Hi guys. Is there anything I can do to help you today?" The employee asks. I read her name tag it read 'Amanda'

"I'm getting my first fish today!" Olivia says and she sounded so excited.

"That's awesome! Here let me show you to the fish" She says and we walk over. They had about thirty fish tanks lined up on a wall. Olivia was so excited. She was running around and looking at all of them.

"Look there's Nemo!" Olivia said and pointed to one fish tank then went to another. She pointed to that one and yelled "It's Dory"

"Do you have a freshwater or saltwater tank?" Amanda asks me.

"A freshwater" I say.

"Ok. So that's all the fish on the left side of this wall. The rest are saltwater." She says.

"Hey Olivia. What don't you come look at these fish" I say.

"Ok" She says and walks over to the freshwater fish. She looks for a couple minutes.

"I like these" Olivia says and points to a tank filled with tiny little red and blue fish.

"Those are called neon tetras. Those are perfect starter fish" Amanda says.

"Great. How many do you think we should get?" I ask.

"How many gallons is your tank?" She asks.

"Twenty" I say.

"I would do at least five. They are schooling fish so they like to be in groups and you can mix them with almost every other species here" She says.

"Ok. Then can we have seven please?" I ask.

"Yeah. Of course" She says and goes over and gets everything she needs to get the fish out of the tank.

Olivia looks at a few more tanks. After Amanda gets the fish she hands the bag to Olivia.

"Thank you" Olivia says.

"Your welcome" She says back.

We look around the store for a little bit. She picks out a few statues for the tank. She picked out a rainbow, a little crab with a sign that says no fishing and then a little flower ball that's supposed to be a hide out for the fish.

We paid for everything than left the store. I buckled her into her car seat and handed her the fish. I honestly expected her to be like Darla from Finding Nemo and be shaking the bag and killing the fish but she was actually pretty gentle with it.

"Do you like your new fish?" I ask her.

"Yeah. I like this one the best" She says and points to ones of the fish in the bag. They all look the same to me but she has her favorite.

"Are you going to name them?" I ask.

"Yeah. I don't know what there names are yet" She says.

"Ok" I say.

We get home and get the fish used to the water. You have to put a little bit of the water into the bag every like half an hour and keep the bag in the water so it gets used to the temperature. We didn't do it exactly the way the lady at the pet store told us to but it was good enough.

Later that night it was almost time for her to go to bed. She has been watching these fish all day since we got home. It is definitely the best Christmas present she got this year.

"I know what I'm going to name them" She says.

"What are you going to name them?" I ask.

"All there names are Sabrina and Bradley because they are always together" She says.
