Prologue
As we got onto the plane I felt the excitement and adrenaline rush through my veins. Through the intercom a woman spoke about seatbelts being put on and the plane starting. I grabbed Will's hand and held on tightly.
He leaned over to whisper in my ear, "Calm down, it'll all be okay." The kissed me on the cheek. To some people we would look like a cute couple going on vacation. In fact, we have been called a "cute couple" before. But we are more like brother and sisters, being friends since high school.
"I can't calm down. I'm kind of scared. And really nervous."
He snorts and I give him a playful smack in the arm for laughing at me. Talk about rude.
"What are you so nervous about? I'm in shock here. It's a strange sight to see Katherine Reed. Actually nervous," He squeezes my shoulder, "It'll be alright Kiddo. Trust me this will be great, New York wasn't working for us, this can be our new beggining."
The plane soon begins to lift. I rest my head against Will's shoulder and close my eyes hoping to be able to fall asleep until I get to Chicago.
