Breathless

Chapter Five

The next couple days were very stressful. It turned out that Danielle was right. Will had left with someone and had "forgotten" to tell us.

That morning after the night out he came stumbling in to his room at almost 6 in the morning with a major hangover. He said that the reason he never replied to all the calls and texts was because his phone was dead.

I tried to make him to tell me who it was he was with, but for some reason he doesn't want to tell me and all he says is, "It doesn't matter." Or, "Just let it go, Kat." Which is kind of disappointing because we always tell each other everything. That was the the time I talked to him yesterday, he's been avoiding me since then locked up inside his room.

As for the anonymous text message I received on Friday night, I deiced to ignore that and blocked the number. It was probably one of the many guys who wanted to dance with me and I just shooed away. Danielle was trying to get me to hook up with one of them so she probably gave them my number. I don't really have time for any distractions right now so I'd rather just ignore it.

On the bright side though I finally got my car! I went with my mom that afternoon to a nearby car dealer and ended up with a silver Nissan Altima, it was the best I could afford and I'm not complaining it's a really nice car. I'm actually really excited that now I don't have to worry about how I'm going to get to C&M tomorrow for my first day.

Just thinking about starting tomorrow has brought a great amount of stress on me I'm literally freaking out! My mom's last birthday gift from her was a nice black leather briefcase from Michael Kors. It looked more like a purse and I loved it!

The next morning I woke up 2 hours before I had to be there. I had to make a good impression for my first day. After my shower I decided on a new outfit I bought for work when I went shopping with my mom.

It was a button down white blouse with a black pencil skirt and a pair of my most comfortable black heels. A nice simple pearl necklace with matching earrings.

It was a very "secretary" look. And it was also something that says "I actually take my job seriously."

As for my hair I left my curled blond hair down.

About an hour and a half later I'm finally ready to go. It's a 10 minute drive so it's not so far. I get my purse and pass by the kitchen grabbing an apple, a granola bar, and a bottle of water.

I also quickly write a note for when Will wakes up saying.

'Off to work, wish me luck! Kisses -K (P.S. I'm not off until 5 so see you then!)'

I quickly grab my light jacket and rush to the basement where my new car is parked.

10 minutes later I'm parked in the parking lot of C&M enterprises. My palms are sweaty and I feel like I'm about to throw up!

'You can do this Kat.'

'Katherine Reed is never nervous!'

'All you have to do is go in there and show him your best.'

Once I open the door my phone vibrates again.

'GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FIRST DAY!! ILY xx -Dani'

I smile and quickly thank her as I walk towards the door of the building.

Once I enter I almost gasp at the sight. Just the lobby looks like a 5 star hotel lobby! Oh god I don't fit in here!! I can't do this.

'JUST WALK TOWARDS THE FRONT DESK! YOU CAN DO THIS!' My subconscious reminds me.
