Chapter 11: Onii... chan?

('Nee-chan' here is referred to Etsu as she is biologically her elder sister, unlike y/n and the rest)

Phew... coming back from the arcade was fun! After the movie, Papa and Mama brought me there to play. We watched 'Train Too Boring', and Papa was crying when the hero and his daughter separated while Mama was just eating popcorn. To be honest, I think the show was okay, quite exciting and emotional, but... it's not that fun without (y/n) Onii-chan. Mou! Why did Nee-chan have to take him away? She say she was going out with the rest to buy something... I don't believe it! How can buying something take so long?! It's almost night and we had dinner already!

*stomps foot on ground*

Geez.... when (y/n) Onii-chan gets back, I will beg him to let me sleep with him in his room tonight again to make up for not being with me the whole day. For now, I'll just lean back against the sofa and wait for them to come back.

Mu... It's almost 9... why are they taking so long? Even if it's shopping, surely they won't have to take the whole day. I should have made Papa and Mama agree to let me go with them so I can see what they are up to. Grr....

Ever since Senna and Renna-nee have moved in to stay with us, things have gotten quite awry in the house. When I wake up at night, I always see Nee-chan sneaking out of our room and to (y/n) Onii-chan's room. I don't know why, but Nee-chan is always dressed in her lingerie before she sneaks to his room. Lately, even Yuzu-nee, Kuyu-nee, and Fuyu-nee has been joining Senna-nee, Renna-nee and Nee-chan. It was as if they were assaulting (y/n) Onii-chan.

I remember one night when I woke up and went to use the toilet, I heard howling sounds coming from Yuzu-nee's room. I got scared and ran to Papa and Mama's room. Before I could take them to Yuzu-nee's room, the howling stopped. Papa told me not to worry as he will hire a carpenter or someone to take a look at Yuzu-nee's room to see if there were foxes hiding between wall spaces or making a nest there. That made me feel relief for Yuzu-nee in case she was in danger. But, I was still too scared to sleep on my own and slept with Papa and Mama.

And the next morning, when I asked them if they had heard any howling sounds, they all said no. We~ird? How could it be that I'm the only one who heard it? Even Papa and Mama believed me! Still, Onii-chan's face looked guilty. Fine, I will ask him later and see if he knows anything. Ahh!! I forgot to ask him!! Never mind, I will remember to ask him later when he comes home.

*sighs again*

.... Is that the sound of the front door opening? Pyon! (Sound of her hopping off the sofa) It must be....!

"Welcome back! Onii-chan!" I greeted as I opened the door for them before they could even respond.

But...

"Are~? Senna-nee, where is (y/n) Onii-chan?" I asked Senna-nee, who was with the other Nee-chan in front of the door. Based on their expression, I can tell something isn't right...

"......" Nee-chan walked past me without saying anything. Considering that everyone except (y/n) Onii-chan hasn't returned home yet, something must be wrong. Even the look on everyone's face shows that.... It has that feeling....

"Nee-chan...." I muttered softly, grasping Nee-chan's hand and holding it. Looking up at her, I silently begged for her to tell me what had happened. In order to get back up, I glanced at the rest of my sisters for help, as they were all surrounding me with hesitant looks on their face.
