Chapter 21: Business

(Tio's P.O.V)

The last thing I remember before I went to bed was drowsiness.

When Renna-nee gave me the cup of water to drink, I got sleepier all of a sudden. I didn't really remember much, but I do know that I headed upstairs without completing the movie yesterday with Onii-chan and...

Eh?

Onii-chan?

Who is that?

I don't know who this is...

W-Where is the Onii-chan I know?

"Mm... Oh, you're already awake, Tio?" The weird Onii-chan called out to me by my side.

I realized that someone else instead of Onii-chan was sleeping in bed with me along with the Onee-chan. Although he looked like Onii-chan, it was easy to tell it wasn't him from response alone.

"Yeah..." I nodded slowly and got off the bed. "I'll be heading to the toilet."

Allowing me to leave, he let go of me and I immediately took my leave to the toilet as an excuse to get away from him. With discomfort welling up inside of her, I suddenly felt confused as to what was going on. Clutching on to the buttons of my pyjamas, I stumbled into the toilet and rest against the sink.

No matter how many times I rinsed my face with water, I found myself unable to wake up from this weird dream. The fact that someone else other than Onii-chan was looming in our house for the past few days drove the shock into me. My memories remained intact, making me self-conscious of what my sisters and I did with him for the past weeks or so. A shudder ran down my back as I continued to recall everything. My body started to tremble so roughly that I could feel the tip of my fingers tapping the sink in small intervals.

"A-Ah... ah..." I stammered, unable to accept the shocking reality. "W-Who are we living with...?"

Before I could collapse to the floor, I felt a gentle pair of hands clinging gently to the side of my arms. I reflexively sank backwards into the person's grasp. Not knowing who it was initially, I looked up and found myself staring into the red orbs of Renna's eyes.

"R-Renna-nee..." I murmured weakly, feeling my head sinking into her soft chest. "

"Yes, Tio," she made a gentle smile and stroked my head. "Let's go to my room to talk, okay? I know you are very confused and lost right now, but I will tell you everything."

"B-But Senna-nee..." I replied, concerned about her other twin who could be sleeping.

"Ah, right," Renna mumbled, realizing the inconvenience. "Okay, how about we go out for breakfast after getting ready? I will distract him, so take your time to wash up and fell refreshed."

"W-Wait!!" I held on to her arm tightly just as she was beginning to walk away. "W-Why are you acting like everything is normal?'

"Like I said, I will explain everything once we are out," she sighed and patted my head again. "You wouldn't want that bastard listening to our conversation, would you?"

"Ah... um... got it..." I mumbled, nodding at what Renna said. "But I feel bad for relying on you to distract him..."

"Don't be. As much as I hate sticking close or even living in the same house as he is, I am doing it for my family," Renna gave me a determined smile. "Also, Onii-chan's safe. So don't worry too much about us, worry about yourself."

Onii-chan's safe? That's great to hear. My heart thumped loudly for the first time ever since I realized that the Onii-chan I'm living with was a fake. Watching Renna's hair swaying as she made her way to my room in her scrawny sleepwear, I felt a sense of pride inside of me. I didn't know Renna had such determination in herself to be able to protect our family... I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination, but I also felt the urge to do everything I could to protect my family.
