"Lyra, we need to move." Kold said.

"Yea. I kinda figured that." Lauren said.

I just looked at her. She looked scared but fearless at the same time. We moved to the other side of the club. Weaving through people trying to stay concealed. Then, the chatter and screams stopped.

"There's a fugitive in this club." It was the Rebel leader, Troy. "I know you're still in here. I've blocked all the doors. The police have even offered to help."

People were looking around. For us.

"We need to go. Now." Kold said. He sounded nervous.

"Where? They're standing in front of all the doors." Laurin said.

Good point, Lyra thought.

"Come on. I don't have all night. The more I wait the more people die." Troy said. "Their blood will be on your hands."

"Shit." Lyra said.

"Come on. I know a way out." Kold started moving.

They scurried through people. There was more chatter now.

"HERE!" Said one of the girls as they scurried past.

The Rebels spotted them and they took off.

They followed Kold to a door as the floor and wall around them sounded off with bullets as they ran. They got to the door and a Rebel came around the corner.  Lyra yelped and closed her eyes.

When she opened them Kold was pulling on her. They were headed through the door with bullets spraying all around them.

"Lets go!" Kold said as they hurried down the hall.

They got to the door at the end that led outside. Kold pushed it open hitting a HCP in the face and knocking him down.

"This way!" Kold yelled.

They followed Kold into an alley. Kold pulled open a door that led into a warehouse.

"Where are we?" Laurin asked.

"We're in a warehouse that was used for shipping old goods out of the city. It's not used anymore." Kold said.

"A better question is why are we here?" Lyra said.

"Its a secluded place in the city. There's two entrances. One we came in and another in the front. this place is so big that it would take them hours to look through it. Even with all the men they have." Kold said.

They were walking along the huge open room that was the warehouse. Lyra was scared. She didn't know if the Rebels and HCP were in there or not. And she didn't think Kold knew either. It was so big, how could any of them know?

"Where are we going?" Laurin asked.

"There's an exit on the other side of the warehouse." Kold said.

"Thought there was only two entrances?"

"There are. I said EXIT not ENTRANCE. It's a tunnel that leads to the Low City."

Lyra didn't want to go back. She knew they would find her. No one knew what they did after that.

They continued moving through the warehouse. It was filled with old goods such as wood, metal, old crates that haven't been opened, and clothes that looked to have been torn to pieces for other uses. The place smelled. Lyra didn't know what the smell was.

They came up on a crate that looked like it had been opened many times before.

"Alright. Here it is. Listen, I have to take care of some things. There are no turns. Go down the ladder and go until you come to a door. It's the door to the Low City. Make sure you close it on you're way out." Kold said opening the crate.

"Wait, wait, wait. You're not coming with us?" Lyra asked.

"I have some things I need to do."

"You can't leave us. They will find us. They're probably down there right now looking for us."

"Listen, I will come back for you. There's things that are very important and you need to understand. But I cant tell you right now. I will find you before they do. I promise." He had a reassuring tone in his voice.

"Okay." Lyra said.

"Now go. You need to hurry." He hurried them down the ladder and closed the crate behind them.

They climbed down and Lyra was scared. She didn't want to be without Kold now that she was a wanted girl in the cities. She had only just met him, but he saved their lives. And she needed him.

As they walked through the tunnel Lyra thought about what Kold said. She needed to know something very important. What did that mean? She didn't know. But, she would soon find out.

They found the door and Laurin opened it very slowly. She peaked out and watched for a few seconds before opening the door and stepping through. Lyra stepped through and shut the door behind her.

"Do you know where we are?" Laurin said.

"Yeah. We're on the other side of the city from our places." Lyra said.

They had about eight blocks to walk in order to get home.

"Do you think it's safe to go home?" Laurin asked.

"Ya know, Laurin. I really hope so." Lyra said as they started walking towards their homes.
