The bell rings for first period and I am stopped outside my classroom by Casey and her "popular" crew. "Where ya goin rag face!" The girls all laugh at me as I stand there hopelessly attempting to get around them. "Let me through Casey", I say quietly. "Not so fast Kailey. You have no idea who you're messing with, but I would stop now if you don't want to be too miserable", she says with a smirk as she steps on my foot when she leaves. I have no idea what she's talking about. What did I ever do to her?

I walk into the English classroom quietly and take my seat next to David, this guy that has liked me since 5th grade. He used to look like crap, but now he kind of looks cute. He is like one of those cute nerds that also can be athletic- brown hair, blue sparkling eyes, tall, but not too tall, and glasses that make his look even hotter. Gosh. I fall in love with every guy I see! Even if one guy just compliments my shoes I'll start liking them.

I am brought back into reality when I see everyone staring at me and mrs. starkington had a stern look on her face. "What was that?", I say. She responds, "I said what do you think will happen next in our book club book" I sit there trying to think of a good answer, but nothing comes I to my mind. Mrs. Starkington sighs and turns to ask someone else.

David turns to me and says "haha smooth move. What were you thinking of anyway?" I stutter and say, "Um, I don't know, I sort of just space out sometimes... I have selective hearing". He nods his head. Thank god he bought it. The bell rings and everyone gets up to go to second period. My friend Jenny comes up to me and joked "hahaha and for a second I thought you were actually gonna say something!" Jenny is like the opposite of me. She's not shy at all, blonde hair, sporty, and smart. She's pretty much the only one who will stand up for me, but she can't be by my side 24/7 so I have to learn to protect myself.

Gosh I need to start making more friends.... Maybe even a boyfriend...
