'Diego'
I sat outside the house for hours.
Mr Harrison left, but I had to wait for his wife.
When she finally left I had only a little bit of time before school let out and he would be home.
I got out of my car and ran to the house.
They wouldn't be stupid enough to leave a key anywhere so I walked around the house trying to find an open window.
There was a small square one, I'd hardly fit.
I had to try.
I opened it looking in.
It was to a closet.
I slide my feet in steadying myself onto a shelf.
I pulled the rest of my body in and lowered myself off of a shelf.
I opened the closet door.
I felt like I was in some spy movie.
I walked around opening literally every door till I got to one with steps.
He might not have been stupid enough to leave his house door unlocked, but he was to the basement door.
"Remy." I say un latching the door.
I took my phone out turning my flashlight on.
I shown it around the room, and seen a body curled into a ball in the corner, soft muffles of cries.
I shoved my phone in my pocket and ran over.
"Remy. It's okay. It's okay. It's Diego. I told you I'd be here." I say wrapping my arms around her pulling her to me.
"You came." She cried. "You actually came."
"I told you I'd be here."
She was freezing cold.
"You came." She said crying into my shirt.
There was a slam of the door upstairs.
"I swear to fucking god! God damn Kids!"
I got up and closed the door.
"Where can I hide?" I whisper.
She faintly lifted a barely visible arm to a corner of the room that was like, used to be a closet or something.
As soon as I ducked into the corner the big door slammed open.
I slide down covering my ears shoving my head between my knees.
I tried picturing me walking out of here, her under my arm.
There was his yells, her screams to stop, and it was all hitting me so fast.
I wanted to help.
I came.
That's all I could do right now.
