08 | Trying to Make it Work

Both superheroes were standing in front of each other unmasked.

Adrien?!?? It's him? This whole time Adrien confessed to liking Ladybug when at the same time he liked me. No. He doesn't like me, I'm Marinette, he likes Ladybug.

"Adrien..." is all Marinette could manage to say. She could hardly believe she has been fighting along side her all time crush, Adrien.

"M'lady, it's you. How could I be so dumb enough not to realize this before?!?"

He took his hands in hers, immediately she took them back. Marinette's eyes started tearing up, and she turned around. She transformed back into Ladybug, she slung her yo-yo and ran off.

Did I say or do something wrong? Adrien thought. Plagg flew up next to Adrien.

"Mm, thought she be a bit more happy like Tikki said," the little Kwami said, staring in the direction Ladybug just left in.

"Who's Tikki?" Adrien asked looking at Plagg confused.

"Tikki is Marinette's kwami. She's the ladybug bug Miraculous. I saw her again when I was looking in Marinette's room, oh I've missed her so much," said Plagg dreamily.

"And you didn't think about telling me this before?!?! Mari is Ladybug, I've been talking about Ladybug forever-,"

"Chill Adrien, I found out just a couple of days ago. Tikki didn't want me to tell you since she thinks it's important for you guys to find out on your own," Plagg said cutting Adrien off.

"I guess I'll just try and talk to her tomorrow at school."

"Adrien is freaking Chat Noir!  He must be so disappointed in me Tikki," said Marinette quietly sobbing in her pillow.

"Why would he be? He loves Ladybug which means he loves you Marinette," Tikki said trying to reassure her.

"No Tikki. You heard him say he loves Ladybug, she's well...she's Miraculous. Me, I'm just the shy, clumsy, school girl. With a stalkerish crush. Adrien might like Ladybug, but he doesn't like me- not even close," Marinette said. Tikki felt sorry for Marinette as she watched her cry, she had to talk to Plagg about this. If they go against an Akuma it could be awkward.

"Marinette don't think of yourself like that. The Marinette I know is strong, creative and a loyal friend. Ladybug is just the other side of you. If Adrien likes Ladybug than he'll have to learn to like Marinette also. And if he doesn't, it's his loss," Tikki said giving Marinette a pep talk.

"Thanks Tikki, but it's no use."

Authors Note: I know that the title of this story says the word "Ladrien". This story will be more  Ladynoir or Adrinette since they know who each other is. I don't really want to change the title of this story, since I've already done it before. And I'm sorry that this chapter is short and nothing really happens. Hope you like this story!
