What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the phrase "He/she's so blind"?
Well if they word it like that I'm assuming they're not literally/physically unable to see. So I guess the first thing that comes to mind is someone not realizing something.
Okay that's is the normal or common response, but what if that person really was blind and the person asking the question was making a joke about it in front of them because they are being 'funny'. Forgetting the fact that said blind person is not deaf and can actually hear very well despite the lack of sight.
Well I would be adding that said joking persons name on my list of people to hate. (and frame for crimes XD) But like if that was actually going on in front of me I'd probably get really angry on the inside, but i don't know if I'd actually do anything because let's face it I'm a wimp and a coward.
Nice, okay time to get to the deep stuff sit back and enjoy!
I'm ready!
Okay I'm a paint a beautiful picture for you verbally.
Okay now that we have who you would react to a blind person being made fun of let's dive into the mind of this said blind person and see what they think of this in counter.I swear if this is going to make me feel guilty...XD jk
No, but it will help you to maybe understand the struggles better! I'm here to give you a deeper meaning of blind on two different fronts!
Okay I'll let you continue now XD
Okay, This is what the blind person sees through their eyes or I guess hears. This in counter is staged at a sweet simple coffee shop, quiet, warm and inviting or so they had originally thought. (side note its going to be a guy now) (Okay) He had just gone there to enjoy a cup of simple black coffee, he liked things simple it was easy for him to imagine what it might look like, the color it was the shapes it created. Simple things were nice to him, so the smooth vibrations the coffee shops soft jazz music it was playing inside relaxed his sore muscles. So upon entry he listened for the sound of the most voices assuming it was were the workers were all squished together behind the counter for the day. Slowly making his way over. Bla bla orders coffee sits down, the two rude (idiots) walk into the store they were regulars. They see the lonely man sitting in their usual window booth staring straight ahead sipping his coffee, the glazed over dull grey look in his eyes. Though they thought they were quiet the taller of the two scoffed elbowing his friend and saying the famous line, "look this fella must be blind seeing as this is our booth. Don't you think?" He says to his friend. The blind men though acting if he didn't hear their rude remarks got up and offered them the booth making up the excuse that the sun is too warm for him there and quickly shuffled at a slowly pace careful to not spill his coffee till he found a empty table again. Finally finding a small round table tucked in the corner of the room he sat down gently placing his cup down. After a few seconds he calms his rapidly beating heart and lets out a shaky sigh. Though he loved simple things because he was blind he always 'looked' upon the people gifted with sight with envy he wondered if he wasn't blind would he still have a love for simple things? Or would he be in love with all the paintings he could never see the smiles on his parents faces, would he love his own appearance if he could see it? Would he stay up late to gaze at the night sky or wake up early to watch the sunrise painting the sky in beautiful vibrant colors? What would his favorite color even be he wondered. These questions always made his head hurt so he we didn't dwell on things that could never be possible what was the point of dreaming if they can never come true. He wishes everyday that he wasn't born blind he would much rather be deaf, but then thinking about being deaf he then sees that the people that have it the best are the ones that can hear and see they can do things that he we wished he could do. But they always take it for granite like its something so 'simple' something so small and unimportant in their life. So instead of appreciating it they decide to make fun of the people that can't have what they have. Why is the world so cruel? After he polished off his coffee because thinking always makes him thirsty. He's about to get up when a hand rests on his wrist softly making him freeze when a timid voice speaks up, "U-Um I know this is rude, but what you just said was very beautiful..." The voice was high and very feminine so a girl. Confused the man looked towards the voice and parted his lips, "What do you me-. Oh god did I say that out loud!" His eyes widening mouth hanging open. The girl giggled lightly at him, "Yes you did. You also sat at my table, but it okay I was lonely anyway. Oh I'm Christa by the way!" Christa chriped shaking his hand more like arm. The man now finding an interest in this very non simple girl sat back down smiling at her, "Hello my names Jonathan," Jonathan said getting comfortable in his seat once again. She smiles though he can't see it, "well Jonathan I hope we can become great friends!" "Yeah," Jonathan smiles softly, "Me to...".
