There once was a tiger with claws like diamonds and fur like fire. The claws could cut anything and everything it desired. But because of these claws Tygrys the tiger was a target that Eurystheus wanted Hercules to vanquish. So Eurystheus sent Hercules to earth to kill Tygrys and take his claws for himself. But the goddess Athena adored and marveled at the tigers strength and beauty so she warned the tiger of the looming danger. The tiger bowed its thanks to the goddess and went into hiding and only came out to hunt. For many moons hercules searched for Tygrys but couldn't find him so he got furious over time. One day the tiger left his hiding spot to look for hercules. When he found him he started to mess with Hercules. First he would let Hercules see his tail swaying in the grass then disappear. Also tease him by leaving footprints in the mud or dirt leading the opposite way the tiger really went. Athena thought it was amusing the way Tygrys was so clever and elusive to Hercules. This happened for six years with the tiger teasing Hercules and hercules hunting him and not succeeding.
But one day Tygrys got careless and let his guard down. Hercules who was watching him saw this and took aim with his spear. The spear went flying and pierced tygrys belly, Tygrys cried out in pain and fell over. Where he laid down is where he drew his last breath. The goddess Athena who adored and watched the tiger for many years felt pity for him. So she placed his spirit up in the stars as a consolation for his cleverness and beauty. Tygrys got three stars for every year he evaded Hercules spear. Tygrys can also be seen just above Leo the lion running away from Hercules for eternity. Were Athena can watch Tygrys escape hercules well he can't capture his prey. For eternity.
