Song of the day: Go To Hell For Heaven's Sake - Bring Me The Horizon

My name is Veronica Rose. My friends call me Ronnie but I'll only allow my friends to do that. I'm just this average 17 year old.. well actually, I'm not that average.

I get picked on for being "different" but I know damn well there are plenty of others in my lame ass school just like me. But I'm the target. My mom says I deserve it.

My mom has to be the bitchiest bitch I know. She blames me for my dad leaving but really, it's her fault. She drove him nuts and I don't blame him for leaving but I wish he took me with him. We haven't spoken in a few years and I wonder what life is like in America.

I roll over and look at my alarm clock. 6:30. I groan loudly and got up to get ready for school. I dragged my feet over to my closet and looked for an outfit. Slightly distressed over sized black sweater? I think yes. I pulled it over my head and smoothed out my hair.

I pulled on a pair of ripped jeans and cuffed the bottom. I slip on my black vans and do a heavy makeup look with thick liner. I pull my hair in a messy ponytail and went downstairs. I heard some shuffling in the kitchen. Shit. My mom is up.

I turned the corner and saw her wretched face making coffee. She turned and looked me up and down. I grimaced at her. "What?" I mumbled. She scoffed. "You're going to school dressed like that?" I looked at my outfit. There was nothing wrong with it.

"Yea. Is there a problem?" I wanted to smack the shit out of her. It's not my fault she dresses boring and has boring features. She has plain dark brown curly hair while mine is black with emerald green tips. Her eyes are a dark brown but mine are hazel.

My skin is also a little darker than hers because my dad had nice chocolate skin, while my mother had a much lighter complexion. "No wonder people bully you. You're pathetic." She waltz past me and made her way to the living room. I didn't have time for this.

I grabbed my bookbag and my keys and headed out my car. I skipped breakfast cause there's no way I'll let these losers call me fat. No fucking way. I turned the key ignition and drove over to my best friend Maya's house.

We've been best friends since were 5. We're practically inseparable. She's much like me. We have the same music taste, and we have the same fashion sense. I pulled up to her house and beeped my horn.

I watched as she made her way to my car. Her shoulder length blue hair flowed effortlessly in the December breeze. She got in the passengers side and gave me a quick hug. "So, Ronnie there's something I need to tell you." She looked a bit nervous.

I motioned for her to go on. "I'll tell you at lunch." I nodded my head. Lunch is when our whole group can get together. We kinda stay to ourselves since we're the different people.

It was lunch time and my whole group was here. Except one person. He goes by the name Oliver Sykes. He was tall and was covered in tattoos. He had shaggy brown hair that covered most of his face. I can't fucking stand him. But Maya thinks otherwise. The only thing that's different about us is our taste in guys. Maya is absolutely head over heels for Oliver and I have no fucking idea why.

He sat down across from me and Maya instantly turned on her flirty mode. There's only 7 of us in our group. Me, Maya, Oliver, Matt, Curtis, Hannah, and Emily. Oliver, Matt and Curtis were part of some dumb band. Something like... Take Me To The Lake or something. I don't know.

Maya twirled her hair and turned to Oliver. "So Oliver, how's your band coming?" She batted her eyelashes at him. I'm gonna be sick. He shrugged his shoulders. "We've got a few songs in the making. I have a feeling they're gonna sound fucking awesome." Him and Matt did a fist bump. I rolled my eyes.

Oliver smirked at me. "Oh, does little Ronnie not like our band?" Now the eyes were on me. "I've never even heard of your stupid band." I spat at him. He raised an eyebrow, obviously amused.

"Is that right?" He leaned a little closer to me. "You've never heard of Bring Me The Horizon?" asked Matt from across the table. I took a sip of my water and shook my head. So that's what they're band name is called.

"She doesn't listen to cool music so it's no surprise that she doesn't know who we are." Oliver snickered. Matt and Curtis laughed along too. Even Maya was holding back a laugh. This is why I hate Oliver. He turns everyone against me. Even my best friend.

I shot Maya a look that said "shut the hell up or I'll ruin your chances with Oliver". She stopped laughing almost instantly. I hate it when she's around Oliver.

"So you guys are coming to my Christmas party right?" Emily spoke up. Apparently this party is gonna be huge. "Wouldn't miss it!" Hannah said. I nodded in agreement. "Let's just hope it's not like last time." Curtis said chuckling.

Last time Emily threw a Christmas party, the cops were called because we were all drinking alcohol and getting high. It was a hell of a night and nobody got caught. I smiled at the thought of it.

"It won't be like last time." Emily said. "It wouldn't be such a bad thing though. Who doesn't like getting drunk and high at the same time?" Oliver said nudging Matt. "But who wants to get arrested?" I said to him. He rolled his eyes at my comment.

"No one will get arrested, Ronnie." Maya assured me. I sure hope not. But if someone does get arrested, I hope it's Oliver. Then the bell ring and we all headed back to class. Me, Maya and Oliver had this period together unfortunately but he's not walking with us.

"What did you need to tell me?" I asked Maya. She stopped dead in her tracks. Her face lightened up and she dragged me in the corner of the hallway. "What? What's going on?" I asked her. She took a deep breath.

"How do you feel about Oliver?" Is she seriously asking me this? I fucking hate him. "I don't particularly like him.. why?" I crossed my arms over my chest. "I think I'm gonna ask him out" she whispered. My eyes widened.

"You WHAT?" I nearly shouted.
"Shhhh!" She whispered. Why the fuck would she ask him out? What does she see in him? "I dont know Ronnie. I know you don't like him, but I do. I'm gonna go for it." I sighed. If it makes her happy then whatever, I guess. She is my best friend after all.

"Well, if you wanna ask out Oliver psycho then go ahead. I just want you to be happy." She smiled from ear to ear. "What would I do without you?" I smiled back at her and gave her a quick hug. Then we walked to our next class.
