What happened?

I seemed to have suprised Gabriel, for he didnt hear me walking up to him.

"Hey, am I interrupting?" I said with a questioning tone.

"Hi, ughh am no, not at all" was his reply.

I let out a chuckle saying" soo.....am what happened last night?"

"Well you know.....you were ranting on about your mother and the engagement, and well before you could finish the bottle you passed out."

I blushed, I couldn't help myself, I turned away feeling a bit embarrassed.

"I remember being on the bridge, how did I get all the way over there" I pointed to where Maddi was now awake and chatting with Oliver.

I heared a bit of hesitation in his voice and in his facial expression when he said "Well I mean you passed out and definitely wouldn't have been able to walk home so I carried you to the clearing over there and well you know made sure that you were okay".

And while saying that he completely avoided eye contact with me, he just stared out at the water.

I akwardly said "oh....well am thanks for that."

By this time Oliver and Maddi had come to join us.

Maddi said "good morning Gabe" in a soft voice.

"Don't call me that." Gabriel harshly replied.

"Ok sweetheart" and she sarcastically mumbled to me "looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the floor".

But Gabe I mean Gabriel heard her comment and walked off seeming really pissed. I grabbed his hand and he yanked it off.

"Don't Kate!" He yelled. " Just don't, please just leave me alone."His voice softened with his last words. With that he walked off, not even looking back.

"What do you mean don't! Gabriel! "

*I grunted*

I was about to persue him when Oliver grabbed my arm and pleaded, "Come on Kate, just let him be..."

"But..."

"Please? Im begging you."

I reluctantly agreed.

Maddi now trying to soothe me knowing that I felt hurt said, "it's okay hun, something has him in a mood, I'm sure it's nothing to do with you." All the while holding me inher arms and running her fingers through my hair.

Me on the verge of tears nodded and said, with my voice breaking, " yeah, you know you're probably right."

Maddi, "just let him calm down and then try talking to him again, okay?"

I just nodded.

He was the type that never expressed his feelings, I think getting angry with Maddi was just an excuse, I knew better, something was wrong, obviously, but I mean he doesn't act like this, especially not with me.

Then Maddi suggested we all get home. For me, home was the last thing on my mind and I think Oliver very well knew that, so he offered to walk me home.

Maddi lived a few
