I stormed in the office.

Papers were flying, posters were falling. The place was a mess.

"Where is he?" I asked, placing my hands flat on the desk of Will's intern.

"H-He's out at the m-moment!" the young reaper shook in his seat. Clenched my fists.

"Let me in his office,"

"He's out..." The intern squeaked, scared out of his wits.

I pulled him up by the collar, "And if you stop me?"

Letting him fall, I walked to the door.

Opening it, I felt the rush of air. Inside Will's office, a brightly lit room, there was a neat desk with pens lying side by side parallel to each other. Papers stacked in perfect piles and chairs in order. There was silence.  It was a complete change of scenery from the messy office of flying papers and chattering. The only blemish in the room was Will. His hair was disheveled and he laid on the couch, his legs propped up. His glasses on his chest, his eyes closed.

I closed the door behind me and the sounds of commotion stopped.

"Hello Gwen," Will greeted.

I crossed my arms, "I have to hear of it by my brother?" I chided.

"What? You wanted me to brag and be the hero?"

"You are trying to be a hero," I said.

Will opened his eyes, peaking at me but I was sure he could only see my blurry figure. There was a slight smile left on his face, "So in your mind, dying for you is something heroic?"

"Will!" I snapped sharply, "Suicide is not heroic!"

"Suicide...It's not suicide for you but it is for me," He accused. My anger burned out into coals.

He got up, putting his glasses on, "What do you think you were doing?"

".....Saving someone I love," I said, shifting on my feet and putting my hands on my arms, "You....what are you doing?"

"I'm saving someone I love," Will said softly.

I looked up at the ceiling, unwilling to look at William, "Why? Why didn't you just leave me alone?"

"Because I couldn't," He said.

"But how am I suppose to live with myself now?"

"It's different in this case, Gwen," Will stood up and walked to me, "Because of you go away, only the demon would forget who you are. I would have to live without you. Forever,"

"No, Will," I said, realizing his case. He took hold of my hands.

"And if I die.....you two can be together.....you'll be happy and you won't remember me,"

"I want to remember you, Will," I plead, "You were....amazing. We're friends, The best of them,"

"I can't let you remember," He shook his head.

I pulled back, "I'll just change the names,"

"You know the association won't allow that," Will scoffed.

A small despair churned in my stomach.

"Stop that," I said, "What am I suppose to do?"

"My death was predicted for me," Will said, "And all along, I knew that it would end this way,"

"A Shinigami who knew they were going to die?" I asked, "That's ridiculous,"

"It was our first job. Our initiation. Grell kept the story. It touched me in a way I couldn't explain, but now I can,"
