Lost Cause (Original)

Chapter 2

"Where are we?" Error had tiny stars in his sockets which confused Dream as he did not know Error had been able to do that. "We are in Outertale." Dream stated and sat down. Error mimicked Dream and seeing if he had done it right. "What are those?" Error asked pointing to the white dots of gas in the sky. "Those are stars, you love coming here, or at least you used to." Dream sigh before frowning.

How could of Error lost his memory?

Why would he?

When did he?

Dream glanced at Errors astonished face and lightly giggled. "Whoa." Error quickly formed his strings and created a star and was admiring his work.

"Here. For you Dream."

Error held out the star he made to Dream who stared at it. "You deserve it." Error smiled brightly at him and Dream cautiously took and looked it over. "Thank you Error, very good." Witnessing Error create something was very astonishing.

But only Ink can create, right?

Well, it seems other wise. Dream smiled back at Error who was making another star for himself. Error talked to his mini version about his star.

"Dream, you found that bastered finally!?" Dream flung his head up seeing Underfell Sans (Fell) who had been looking in Outertale even after Outertale Sans (Orbit) said Error wasn't there.

Dream quickly got in front of a scared Error who was on the verge of crying.
Fell quickly approached the seen and frowned out of confusion. "Why are you protecting him?" Fell growled. He glanced at Error who had tears streaming down his face. Fell confused and utterly shocked sighed.

"He lost he memory."

Fell laughed to the point he was crying. Dreams face was colored yellow out of anger. "Error, why not talk to Little Error while I take care of him?" Dream suggested wipping a couple tears from Error face. Error smiled and nodded quickly talking going to talk to his puppet.

Dream sighed and walked up to Fell and grabbing him by the collar. "This is not funny, what if Nightmare had got him before I did, we'd be in deep trouble." Fell stopped laughing and felt his eye twitch. He had seen Nightmare and everyone knew what he was capable of.

Looking over at Error, Fell thought it was adorable how Error was acting. Acting like a child.

"Yeah, I understand. What do we do with him?" Fell said glancing at the oblivious Error every few seconds.

Word had got to Nightmare's gang of how Error was missing and they were planning on getting to him first but it seemed they could easily fail in that process if Dream can keep it up. "Well, I don't think he's left the anti-void so he probably hasn't eaten." Dreams stated. Fell looked over to see black liquid form above Error and knew that they had been found. "Dream, look!" Fell shouted causing the black liquid to quickly grabbed Error and slide away.

Dream failed to save a innocent person.

-Time skip from Dream telling Ink-

Ink frowned at what had just been explained to him. Error was found but in a way he was broke, innocent, oblivious, and not useful. "Well we have to get him back before Nightmare tries anything." Ink stated and soon came up with a plan.

-with Error and Nightmare's gang-

Error was crying and clinching his puppet and star close. Nightmare was getting irritated and covered Error mouth with his tentacle. "We just want to talk Error, we aren't gonna hurt you. Much." Nightmares explained unwrapping his tentacle from Error's mouth.

Error looked over at a familiar skeleton that seemed concerned with Error. This is what he physical appearance featured:

The stranger sighed kneeling beside Error. "Error do you know who I am?" He asked only getting Error to shake his head. "As suspected, he lost his memory, that explains his disappearance." The stranger didn't want to bring harm to others and didn't want Error to be bringing harm to others considering his state. "I am Cross, that is Nightmare, to my left is Horror (Horrortale Sans), and to my right is Dust." Error smiles. "I'm Error, well that's what Dream called me."  Error showed them the little version he made of himself and then quickly went to talking to it. "He's acting like a child." Nightmare muttered. Cross and Dust found it cute while Horror just stared.

-time skip-

Dream, Ink, and Fell busted into Nightmares castle after searching for hours. Error smiled and waved happily to the them seeming oblivious to the situation he was in. "Hello Dream." Error said causing everyone to get into a fighting stance both fighting for defense. Both fighting over the same toy. Both not holding anything back. Error blinked after seeing weapons appear. Cross looked back at Error's confused and frightened face and frowned.

Error had tears appearing in his eyes as the fight began. He had his head as glitches covered his field of vision. His star wilted and his puppet frowned. Error was scared, confused, and hurt. He felt pain. Pain consumed his body. Error curled into a ball out of fear. Nightmare was feeding off of it.

Dream glances over and noticed the static Error that kept rebooting. Dream knew what the cause was and quickly knocked Dust and Horror off they're feet and rushed over to Error opening a portal and leaving. Dream noticed blood forming on Errors skull and looked over it seeing a crack. Dream felt tears form in his eyes. He quickly hugged Error as the colorful swirls between worlds led them to their next destination.
