Chapter eight

Cyko's POV
I seemed to have landed in.. Some sort of "wonderland..." Said phantom finishing my sentence behind me. He walked forward so he was next to me. Right in front of us was a giant grassy field with a single cherry tree in the middle with about 50 cherry blossom petals falling each second. It was beautiful. I took phanny's hand and ran over to the tree with him being dragged behind me. We now stood under it. "This is amazing! But I'm not sure why a portal from the underworld would lead to such a peaceful and beautiful place." He said while pulling down his hood making it so the flowers landed in his hair. It is strange... I wonder why it was put there in the first place.. Was it a mistake? Was it a secret getaway for the demons who live there? Why didn't the portal work when we were in kindergarten? So many questions that are yet to be answered. "There's some sort of writing on the tree! I can't make out the letters very well though." I stood where he was and brushed all the pollen off of the bark. "It says.. 'Micheal was here'" who the fuck is Michael? "Don't we know him from somewhere?" Asked phantom. "I'm not sure.. It doesn't sound familiar to me." He looked like he was thinking hard. "Isn't he firestorm's friend or something?" Hmmm "I'm not really sure, but who really cares." He stared at me for a second. "Do you think... He created the portal?" Maybe he did... But if he did, why did he make it in the underworld? "Maybe.." I sat down next to phanny putting my arm around his waist and laying my head on his shoulder. "Maybe when we see him next we can ask him about it" he said staring off into the clear baby blue sky above us. I nodded my head in agreement making it so all you could hear was the branches on the tree swaying softly in the wind. He broke the silence "can we come here more often?" I smiled and closed my eyes."of course!" He then leaned his head on mine and put his hand over my shoulder. Now that I look closer into the seemingly never ending field of oddly perfect grass, I think I can see a waterfall! It looks so pretty! And I think phanty noticed too because his eyes widened in amazement. "Is that a waterfall?" "Do you wanna go over there and check it out?" He nodded his head and stood up. I then swiftly picked him up and ran towards it like sanic on steroids.
Once we got closer I noticed there was a small lake with a few more smaller waterfalls next to the big one we seen earlier with a bunch of long vines coming from the top.
Phantom's POV
I put my hand in the water. It felt like the perfect tempature! Not to warm or too cold. This place really is like a paradise... I felt a hand brush my head. "Haha! You have so many petals in your hair!" He messed with my hair more taking some of them out but keeping some of the more perfect looking ones in. "You look adorable!" He said with a big smile. I blushed. "N-no I don't!" He just giggled at that. "Yes you do~' I tried to change the subject. "want to swim around for a bit?" He looked at the water and then back at me. "But we didn't bring any towels.." I looked around at the trees near us, they all had giant leaves that I didn't even know was possible. How convenient! "We could use those leaves!" I said pointing at the trees not too far from here. "Huh. Convenient!" So we started to take off our clothes until we were just in our underwear. "Hey wanna skinnydip?" He asked with a mischievous look on his face. "N-no! I uh.. I just can't..." He looked confused. "Why not? Its not like I haven't seen you naked before~" I blushed even more than I was before adding more to the redness on my face. "When I'm outside I just feel more.. Vulnerable.. You know what I mean?" He nodded his head. "I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable." He said slowly getting into the water. I went in after him and sat on a flat rock that was placed by a small tree. "I never noticed how clear this water was until now! I could probably drink straight from it!" He said cheerfully. He dipped his head under the water and drank some of it. "... Okay maybe not to drink out of.." "Why?" He coughed a few times. "I think I just swallowed a dead bug..." I laughed at his misfortune. "That's why you never drink out of a lake." He just shrugged. "Well at least its 40% protein by volume." "Where did you learn that from?" He laughed. "The few  I actually bothered to pay attention in school." Wow. I just remembered how bad our grades were! I'm surprised we got through the whole 7 years without getting held back even once. Cyko leaned against the rocks on the edge of the water and sighed. "I was always bad at paying attention in school. I  always got distracted by the stupidest things. Like one time I stared out the window the entire hour in English at a stupid bird!" I just realized I did that a few times too. Never got any of my work done for those days. Cyko pulled a frog from a nearby lily pad and put it on my  head. I actually happen to love frogs. I love pretty much all animals... It always makes me sad to have to kill innocent creatures like that... That's why I only kill people. Because people are far from innocent. I took it from my head and kissed it. " SHIT ITS GONNA TURN INTO A PRINCE AND STEAL YOU AWAY FROM ME!" He yelled in a playful way. He took the frog and threw it far away from us. Don't worry though, it landed safely on a lily pad. I'm kinda surprised. It was the only one around there. Must have took a lot of precision to do that. Cyko held my hand from eer the water. It felt nice to be completely alone with him in such a quiet and isolated environment.
