"are you not coming in? your eyes have been on me for quite a while now."

caught. i bite my lip. it would be stupid not to come in, now, so i pushed open the door and saw her twinkling eyes that made me want to see what was behind them.

"you play piano," she started. i nod.

"that-how did you," i question, astonished at how well she played the piece. she smiles, stands up, leaning on the piano and shrugs.

"will i be seeing you in the competition next month?"

i nod again.

"i'll go easy on you," she smirks and leaves the room. i heave a sigh.

"she's good," i admitted. "i have to practice extra hard this year."

the next day, we met up in the piano room once again.

y/n stood up from her seat and asked me to play something. i nodded and played an original that i had made for someone that was once special to me, but she left me—lee areum.

unrequited. i named the piece 'unrequited', because that was what it was. young love isn't real, i believed that, but the girl standing behind me almost made me change my mind. but i felt like i was lying to myself. lying to her. i felt like the thumping hearts began because y/n resembled the girl i used to love, and it was breaking my heart.

"is this an original," y/n questioned.

"mhm," i replied. we stayed in silence.

"it's beautiful," she commented. i just nod, and it was weird, because my eyes suddenly started to water. "yah, are you crying?"

"hmm? oh, no, i'm not crying," i fake a smile.

"who did you make it for," she asks more questions. and for a second, i saw lee areum's face and said to y/n, " i made it for you."

"h-huh," y/n flinches.

"you're so beautiful," my mind seemed to go bonkers. i didn't see y/n, but saw lee areum.

"i—i can't, daehwi," and she runs away.

"lee areum?" i blink a few times. "y/n? areum? i—i miss you," i breath out, my tears finally falling. i swallowed the lump in my throat. "where have you gone?"

"who is lee areum," y/n hid near the door, hearing the hiccups of what seemed like a crying daehwi. "who is lee areum?"

ugh omg. i srsly forgot the storyline for this, idek what to do with this chapter so i'm finna jus make stuff up.
