"come on luke, time to go." michael gave me a weird look so i started packing up my guitar. i could feel katie watching me, but i didn't know why. i shook it off and finished with my guitar and backpack before sitting back on the couch.

"we should make a group chat," rose exclaimed rather excited. everyone seemed to agree as they pulled out their phones. in the next few seconds my phone vibrated. i finally pulled it out to see a new group chat.

"okay everyone say their name so the girls have your numbers and vice versa," calum said before sending a quick text.

c hood: yo it's calum

mike: michael

ash: ashton xx

diamond: crystallll

+61 *** *** ***: rose :-)

luke: luke

"alright so katie's the last one, then. time to go lads." ashton was already halfway to the door before he even finished his sentence. michael and crystal were off canoodling on the couch, rose and calum were cracking jokes, but katie was just sitting on the couch.

"hey," i said to her, causing her to lift her eyes from her phone.

"are you guys leaving?" she looked sad. i glanced down at her phone and saw liam's name.

"you know i'll always be here for you, right? i'm only just a text away, katie." i saw her smile a little before she rested her head on my shoulder. i swear my heart melted when she did that. i heard calum coughing and i glanced over to see him glaring at me. i rolled my eyes, but i couldn't get myself to stand up. i waited until michael and crystal got off the couch to say anything.

"text me, okay? i mean it, if you need anything i'm only one message away." katie nodded before pulling me into a hug. i hugged her back, relishing in the feeling of her face in my neck. i heard calum cough again and this time i decided to stand up to actually go. i said goodbye to rose and to katie, reminding her to text me if she needed anything. calum practically pushed me out the door as i glanced back one final time. the door closed and everyone piled into ashton's car. i got shotgun because i was the most helpful with directions, but i really didn't feel like it. michael and crystal drove separately since crystal had her car.

"come on bud, you gotta cheer up," calum said from behind me. i rolled my eyes and shot him a glare before laying my head on the window. ashton turned the music up to hide the silence, but i just couldn't get myself to sing along at all.

"luke, she's michael's baby sister."

"i know, ashton. thanks for sharing."

katie's pov

"life just got a lot more boring," rose sighed as we sat on my couch. it was such an eventful weekend, now there's nothing to do. i nodded my head with her. i hated how quiet it was now. you could hear every breath someone took. personally, i'm not a fan of hearing people breath. it grosses me out. i know breathing is necessary to be alive and stuff, but i would prefer to not have to listen to it.

"we could have a girl's night," i suggested. rose and i don't normally hang out with the same people. i don't think she's a big fan of my other friends, even if she says otherwise. it's fair though, because i'm not too big a fan of her friends. that's why we rarely hang out in groups. sometimes she tags along when i'm with madison, lily, and jane, but you can tell she doesn't enjoy it too much. if we're being honest i don't know if i quite blame her either.

"we have to go back to school tomorrow," she reminded me. i groaned quietly because she was right, we still have school. we decided to still hang out a bit longer to watch a movie at least. it's not like i had anything better to do. nobody likes hanging out on sundays and liam texted me saying he's busy so he'll see me tomorrow. besides, i love movie nights with rose. she never spoils the ending and only ever gives entertaining commentary when necessary.
