Round Five, Scene One

ITS OUT NOW THANK THE LORD

"Hello?" Ambermountain called. She made the mistake of wandering into the forest that night. She never returned.
A shuffling sounded in the bushes somewhere far off.
The orange she-cat flicked her ears, her heart lurching. Her nose twitched, hoping to find a scent. But that scent was not what she hoped it would be.

*THE NEXT MORNING*

"We join together in grief for Ambermountain, who disappeared last night in the woods." The Clan kept their heads down as Stormstar kept going. "We could not find her body but-"
"What killed her?" Tigernose was seated in the corner of camp, his ears down. His voice shook as he looked up to his Clanmates, streaks sparkling as tears fell down his cheeks. "Something...one, must have killed her, because we haven't had foxes...or-or badgers....and it wasn't rogues, or we would've known!"
"Tigernose, I know-"
"No, he's right." A quiet voice interrupted the stone gray leader, coming from a small gray she-cat. Daywing stood up, nudging Bloomnight and Novascale. "Right? All of those things he just said are true, and only the cats here knew that Ambermountain was going on a walk last night."
Heronmask nodded, his brown fur slowly starting to bristle. "Look, all of you could be right, but if it was one of us...." He trailed off, his mouth open with no words.
"Then who was it?" Loopfield finished.
Petalbreeze started to panic. "Wha-what? No...!" Her eyes were wild with fear. "Nobody here would have killed her....never!"
Yellowsplash gritted his teeth. "Well one cat here is a traitor." He hissed the last word, staring right at Lightningdash.
Duskstreak jumped in front of Lightningdash, her eyes wide. "No, you don't mean-"
"Lightningdash!" Stormstar's voice boomed throughout the camp, silencing anything else who dare step up to him. His long claws scraped the stone below his paws and his blue eyes searched the crowd. "You are guilty!"
