Steve left like a bat out of hell once he released Sodapop was his ride to work. Leaving me alone in the living room of the Curtis home.

I helped myself to a glass of water, hoping it would mend my headache.

"Morning Liz." Ponyboy said from the doorway. He rubbed his eyes and smoothed down his disheveled hair.

"Morning Pony." I greeted as I leant against the counter top behind me.

"What're you doing here before school?" Ponyboy asked innocently, making his way over to the refrigerator.

"Dad kicked me out of home so I came here. Hope that's okay with you because it sure ain't okay with Sandy." I rolled my eyes.

"Don't worry about Sandy. Everyone likes you way more than her." Ponyboy reassured before taking a gulp of milk straight from the carton.

"Thanks Pony." I smiled and gave him a quick hug before entering the bathroom.

I turned on the shower, undressed and stepped in. The hot water splashed on my back, sending tingles down my spine.

Once I had finished washing my hair and body, I turned off and stepped out of the shower.

Steam occupied the room and covered the mirror. I grabbed a towel of the rack and began drying myself.

Humming to myself, I nonchalantly brushed through my hair until I heard an eruption of activity in the living room.

Curiously, I left the bathroom in only a towel to find Two Bit, Johnny and Ponyboy in the living room wrestling. I cleared my thought to let them know I was there. Immediately they all stopped and looked up at me. Johnny instantly turned a crimson red colour while Ponyboy looked away and Two Bit snickered.

"Yes?" I asked when no one said anything.

"You're only in a towel." Ponyboy said stiffly, still not looking at me.

"Yes?" I nodded my head in confusion.

"It's hot don't bother getting dressed, baby." Two Bit winked causing me to throw anything I could get my hands on, which happened to be a book. Ironic.

"I was just checking what the ruckus was." I spoke quietly. "Are you guys off to school?"

They all nodded.

Footsteps came from the front door and we all turned our attention to the figure who stood in the living room door frame, Dallas Winston.

"What in the world?" He asked looking between the guys and myself.

"Nothing!" I was quick to say before turning around and returning to the bathroom. I dressed into a cream, collared dress that had lace sleeves and lined mid way up my thigh. One of the last dresses my mother made me before she passed away. I let my almost-dry hair bounce behind my back in long curls.
