Milah and Aaron Mellark were sitting on their porch in front of what was left of Victor's Village. Aaron was slowly stroking his makeshift guitar while his dorky sister Milah was reading a book while humming to the tune of Aaron's music. Milah got up to see her father, Peeta, making bread in their house and to see her mother, Katniss, shooting arrows at a nasty hay target in their front yard. Milah smiled ear to ear because it wasn't a typical day at the Mellark residence in the last house in the Victor's Village.

Mailah said,"Today's my thirteenth birthday, Dad. I was wondering if we could play outside and go shopping at the Hob." Suddenly, she heard a pin drop and a bunch of other cooking tools clatter to the floor. Somehow, her mother heard Milah's question and was so shocked by it, she accidentally shot a crow from the pale blue sky. Katniss ran into the house and yelled for Aaron.

Katniss said," Aaron, take your sister to her room, then you go to your room." She talked so fast and so quietly, she sounded like she said," Aaron bake you sister into Macaroons, then you go to your room.''

Aaron picked Milah up and went inside. Aaron started to cook his sister, and Peeta yelled," What are you doing?"

Aaron replied," Cooking Milah into a Macaroon." Aaron wasn't the brightest of the Mellark Family. His sister groaned and took his hand. She dragged him up their mahogany staircase and into her room. He stared at her blankly and then opened his mouth to say something.

"Did you take any?"

"Of COURSE I did, you dummy!" Milah pulled out a loaf of fresh bread Peeta made the day before.

"Dang it! I forgot the cheese!" Milah and Aaron often got sent to their room because Katniss' panic attacks happened at least twice weekly. Every once and awhile, they would go the whole day or night without food. But sometimes their dad would get away from their mom and slip them a meal. If she would put her ear to the door and everything was silent she could hear 2 words every time. Hunger Games.
