chapter 8- in which everyone is worried

sorry about the delay between chapters! I was sort of planning the next few chapters and working on stuff for the other au idea I had. I'm off for a week now though so i'll have more time to work on this! Here we go! I was also looking through the other chapters for errors and let the record show that I know there are some, i'm just going to ignore them e.g. in the characters chapter in Alex's part it say 'bye' instead of ' by' i'm sorry about those...i'm not going to fix them any time soon though. oh and a warning for mentioned past abuse i guess

The bell rang signalling the end of classes, it had been a week since Peggy had found out Alexander's secret and she hadn't said anything! The rest of the week had gone without incident and he hadn't run into any trouble with Thomas, apart from the occasional screaming match with him in debate, or a snide remark in the hallways, gosh that guy was insufferable. Honestly you wouldn't know he had only been at the school a little over a week, he seemed to slot right in. By this point most people in the school knew who he was, he also had a great group of friends. The group had always been close, but Alex seemed to fill a gap that they didn't even know was there, they couldn't imagine him not being there and it had only been a week! Over that week he had become extremely close with all of them. He wouldn't say he was closer with some than others, but he knew that he was able to become so close with all of them for different reasons. Needless to say, they were a family and they all knew it.

Today he was extremely happy to hear the bell signalling the end of classes ring, as it meant school was over for a week! It was Halloween break. Although Alex would normally rather just stay in school and work as he never really enjoyed breaks, this year he had friends to do things with! Lafayette had said that he could come stay with him over the break as the others usually did anyway and Alex was part of the family now. He had explained this tradition with such seriousness that it was frightening. Every year since they were young children they would stay at one of the others houses for the entire Halloween break, taking it in turns. This year it was Lafayette's turn. He had then gone on to explain how they almost banned Hercules from this event as he wouldn't stop telling them about how Halloween originated in Ireland, they eventually came to a compromise, he was now only allowed to tell them the story once every year.

When Alex got to the gate he was unsurprised to see the others waiting for him. He joined up with them and Laf started going over arrangements for the evening, marking the start of the week stay. Then Peggy interrupted and began to speak to Alex

" Alex I know you are new to this so I shall now go over the plans! Okay so last year we discovered that kissanime doesn't have a hentai section so that's out and-"
"wait, what's a hentai?" Silence, Maria then hit Peggy up the head

" PEGGY, HOW DARE YOU MENTION THAT"

" Christ Maria chill you make it seem like I fucked your husband or some shit"

" PEGGY"

" ugh, okay, okay, Alex don't worry about what I just said, don't google it either."

" I'm not three, Peggy" Alex was a little annoyed by how they treated him like an innocent bean ( Eliza taught him that phrase )

" I know, I know. It's just...gross. You will learn eventually, I just don't want to be the one responsible when you do"

" uhhh...okay. Continue with what you were saying"

" well usually we watch anime-"

"anime?"

" pointy hair people, as Laf puts it. Eliza will educate you on that later. Oh and in case you haven't realised all you friends are meme lords, Alex. So there will be lots of that, prepare. You can use the showers and bath the Washingtons have and - " Shit he had totally forgotten about that! What if someone finds out? maybe he could shower in the dorms? yeah that could work but he wouldn't want to offend anyone, maybe this was a bad idea, now that he thinks about it there is so much that could go wrong! He must have spaced out or something because now Peggy was shaking his shoulder, the others looking at him worriedly. Peggy must have understood what was wrong as she leaned in and whispered, " don't worry, Lex, i'll make sure nothing happens. They won't find out anything. I'll be there, okay?" Alex took a deep breath and nodded, Peggy was right. It would be fine and he'd have her there.
