Chapter two Missing You

I guess I did have some free time 😂 so, here's chapter two. Happy Halloween btw! 🎃

It was a warm Friday morning; the sun was shining across the bedroom floor and onto the girl sleeping in the bed. The room was small, but cozy. It had a closest in the left wall, with a door to it's right. On the right wall was a big window, where the bed sat up against the wall.

"SERENA!" Miley, Serena's friend from Hoenn, called.
Her voice pierced through Serena's dream and woke her. She had been dreaming of herself running after someone, but she couldn't tell who they were. She had been so close to grabbing their shoulder when Miley had interrupted.

Serena groaned and rolled over. Did she really have to get up? She was so tired, just opening her eyes felt like too much work. She wanted to sleep in, to resume her dream...
"Serena, we're going to be late!" Miley said again. "Come on! I know you wanted to sleep in today, but we have to get going!"
She was right. Serena, Miley and a bunch of other people had been invited to a big get-together. Serena didn't want to go, but Miley made her agree to go with her.

Grumbling, Serena rolled out of bed and walked across the room. She went over to her dresser and looked up at the mirror. There her reflection shown; a young girl with blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. Usually smooth and shiny, her hair was now a huge mess. She went to work brushing it.
After finishing her hair, Serena went to get changed. She began pulling her clothes on, pausing as she reached for the ribbon that always hung from her neck.
The ribbon Ash had given her.

Serena's vision blurred as tears filled her eyes. It had been so long since she had seen Ash! Did he still remember her or was he off with some new friends, not even giving her a second thought? The thought of Ash not remembering her made her feel empty inside.
Stop it Serena! It's been a year, you don't need to be crying about him now.
But she couldn't help it...

Miley opened the door slowly, peeking in "Serena, you almost ready?"
Serena quickly wipes her tears and smiled weakly. "Yeah, I was just getting dressed." She tried to hide the fact that she had been crying, Miley already knew.
"You've been crying..." Miley said, her eyes full of concern, "it's about Ash isn't it?"
Serena nodded, and fresh tears started to fall down her face. Miley quickly wrapped her arms around her.
"I-I Just m-miss him." Serena sobbed, her face buried in her hands "I wish I could see h-him again."
"I know. And you will," Miley whispered soothingly. She smiled kindly at Serena "You want to stay here, don't you?"
Serena nodded, thankful that Miley had finally realized she really didn't want to go. Miley sighed, "alright. You stay, I'll go."
Miley got up and strolled to the door. She glanced back at Serena, "I'll bring you back some cupcakes"
Serena smiled slightly and nodded.

Serena lay on her bed, crying, until she couldn't cry anymore.
Crying won't get me anywhere...
Her eyes drifted to her dresser, where a picture of her and Ash sat. They had taken it together the day she left for Hoenn.
She slumped off the bed and walked toward it slowly.
That day...the day I had kissed him...
What if he hadn't liked it?
No, he did. You saw the look in his eyes, he had definitely enjoyed it.
But he hadn't said anything. He didn't go after her; didn't tell her that he liked her too...
Maybe it's all in my head... what if Ash doesn't like me back?

Serena put the picture back down and looked into the mirror. She looked horrible. She wiped the tear stains off her face and calmed her breathing.

She had to find out if Ash really liked her back, she had to go see him.
