I looked at everyone that that stood before me. Four assassins, just like me, all in the garb of the elite assassins. The shortest one had dark brown hair, brown eyes, and tanned skin, and even from her face, you could see that she was Hispanic. Her main features, however, was concealed by the hood and mask she wore, and she had golden brown shoulder pads, gloves, and pants, unlike the normal League of Shadows' garb that our 'thugs' wore, which was basically a ninja outfit. She was Al Asfur, the Sparrow.
Next to her was tall, lithe figure, with ghostly pale skin and silver eyes. Strands of her long white hair would sometimes float in front of her face, only to be pushed away by a pair of silver gloves. She was an albino, seen clearly from her white features, and she was the most influential of the five, due to her unique heritage. It wasn't every day that you could find an assassin with her coloring and inherited skills. She was Al Dhiyb, the Wolf.
The third figure was slightly shorter than me, with pitch black hair, save the green and blue streaks that shot through her short, chin length hair, and his eyes were a similar blue. Her features, however, were Eurasian, instead of Caucasian, like Al Dhiyb, Ta-er al Fyniq or me. And surprise surprise, her shoulder pads color was blue as well. Her boots, however, were noticeably stronger and more durable than ours, in order to compensate for her unnatural speed. She was Ta-er al Sariea, the Fast Bird.
The last figure was in between Ta-er al Sariea and Al Asfur's height. She had fiery red curls, green eyes like emeralds, and freckled cheeks. Her shoulder pads were the color of garnets, while her clothes seemed a little more durable than ours as well. She was Ta-er al Fyniq, the Fire Bird.
Then there was me. I was relatively tall, the second tallest in the group, and with my blond hair and gray eyes, I could easily pass as Al Dhiyb's younger sister. Sadly, this was impossible since it was a miracle that Al Dhiyb herself had been sired. My shoulder pads gray, not the silvery color of Al Dhiyb, but our two outfits were pretty similar. I was Al Qamar, the Moon.
While these Arabic names were only known to fellow Shadows or freelancers like Cheshire, we were known slightly better by our vigilante names. Sparrow of Star City, California; Lupa of East River, New York City; Hummingbird of Central City, Missouri; Phoenix of El Paso, Texas; and me, Eclipse of Gotham City, Connecticut.
I landed in front of them, and they all nodded their heads in greeting. "Al Qamar. You're late."
"My apologies, Al Asfur. I had to deal with Nightwing, or his civilian name, Dick Grayson. I had just been required to go on an undercover mission to Lex Luthor's charity ball for his donation to rebuilding some parts of the city that damaged in the plant attack 7 years ago as some repayment. It was attacked by soldiers with Apokaliptan weapons."
"Why were you with Nightwing?" Ta-er al Fyniq enquired. "I thought our original orders were to observe our city's heroes?"
"Which you did well. I heard the reports from Blue Beetle this morning. I received orders from Aibnatu al Ghul. She has given us orders to begin stage two of the plan. I have already given your personas to the Team, so do not seem so surprised if more people come to aprehend you. Let them bring you to the Watchtower -we must all be part of the Team for this to work."
"Should we not be part of the Justice League then? We are mostly all older than 18." Al Dhiyb asked, her thin fingers curling around her blade.
"You wish to avoid your sister, Rose." I said, eyes narrowing. "She will be further occupied with the Titans, so fear not. Your heritage may not be disclosed that quickly."
