I woke up groggily, blinking the spots out of my eyes as I woke. Shaking my head, I found myself not in my room at the manor, not in my apartment, but somewhere vaguely familiar. I tried to move my arm, but it seemed to be stuck, and I widened my eyes in horror. Did I get kidnapped again? Am I about to be tortured? Why do I feel so wa- oh.
I looked down at the head leaning on my bare chest, strong, slim arms wrapped around my torso, legs entangled with mine. Long blonde hair plastered all over my chest as well, and as I shifted, the figure gave a cute little yawn.
Suddenly, memories of last night came billowing back to me. The gala. The kiss. The explosion. Flying. Talking to Jason and Roy. And then in her apartment, the desperate needy kiss, and what had led after that. I shook my head a bit, grinning. It had been amazing. We had been amazing, and he hadn't felt like that for a long time.
"Heya Dick," Emma said softly, her hands moving out from underneath me to wrap around my neck. She looked up at me with sleepy eyes, her sharp, calculating grey eyes now soft and warm. It was strange looking at her like this. Fully naked, without any makeup or disguises on (not that Emma needed to use makeup: she was beautiful anyhow), vulnerable. This was the first time I had seen her so exposed. Usually, with Emma, it was misleading questions, redirected answers, loopholes, and sarcasm. This? This was straight to the point.
"Hey yourself, Emmie," I replied, my hand now free of her grasp and stroking her hair. "You tell me, was it worth it?"
She snuggled closer to me, pressing her body against mine. "Totally worth it."
I sighed at the contact of her warm skin and held her close. "I don't want to go to work. You think the old Commish will wait?"
"Wait for you? No." She laughed before she stopped abruptly. "Wait. What time is it?"
"Time for you to get a watch?" I joked.
She swatted me. "I'm not joking, Dick." She stood up, wrapping her blanket around her as she searched for her clock. Slowly, I watched as her clothes appeared around her, and she tossed me the blanket to cover myself. She picked up her glasses and glanced at her phone. "Oh my gods I have to get to Uni my course starts in 10 minutes I'll have to take a double-shift after school to make up for my missed time at Starbucks." She hurried into the toilet. "I'm going to take a shower."
"Without me?" I asked, a puppy dog pout on my face. "By the way, where's Jen?"
"Definitely without you." She said with a decisive glare. "And Jen moved out a while ago. She got her own place downstairs." She slammed the door shut before I heard her call out something more. "If you're here when I come out, I'll throw you out the window! And don't even think about picking the lock!"
I grinned as I heard the water turn on, and pulled on my shirt, tugging on my pants. I found my phone still in my pocket and turned it on. The screen flashed, and I winced at the bright light. 10+ unread messages. Seriously, Jason? Seriously, Roy?
