Zeynep was so stressed she was asleep for the whole 4 hour ride. She only woke up when the plane rumbled in the process of landing procedures. The rumbling didn't help at all with her stress. After 10 minutes, the plane was docked and the seatbelt sign turned off. Zeynep closed her eyes with a stressful sigh, taking her time to unclasp her belt. Thank goodness she was sitting on the window side.

When she finally went up and walked out of the plane, she stalled a minute. It was the first time in 12 years that she had come back to Istanbul. The passenger behind her tapped her shoulder and Zeynep quickly apologized and moved on. She waited for her suitcase at the luggage claim and when she found it, she picked it and went outside. Mr. Soydere would expect her to in a fancy car, so in spite, Zeynep hailed a taxi van.

The driver was so happy when she told him the address. He rambled everything he knew about her father and his company, but Zeynep blocked him out and stared out the window. Istanbul was beautiful, just her memories were ugly and painful.

The driver went away happy with a big tip, but Zeynep was upset as she stood at the gate where her life had ended. Half her mind told her it was a trick of her father, and that made her angry that she came. But oh well, she was here now, no use standing outside. Zeynep didn't even ring the bell; she just walked inside.

The big mansion was empty, no surprise.

"Hello, I'm home!" She yelled into the empty house.

A door opened upstairs and someone was walking quickly down the stairs. Zeynep turned and saw her old nanny on the last step.

"My baby's finally home!" Nanny Fehime said with a crying smile.

Zeynep smiled sadly and went to hug her nanny. The old lady hugged Zeynep tightly after a long time, then stepped away looking at her sadly.

Fehime fixed Zeynep's hair and cupped her cheek. Something was wrong, but Fehime cleared her throat and smiled.

"I prepared your old room just as you left it."

"Thanks, but I will stay in the guest room." Zeynep said, making her nanny sad.

"Anything wrong, Fehi?"

Another door opened somewhere in the house and Fehime said,

"I'm sorry, my dear."

"Is that Zeynep I see. Allah, I was still waiting for a 15 year old!" A booming voice came and Zeynep turned to see her father for the first time in  12 years. He didn't look like he was ill at all. Only thing missing from his usual look was a cigar.

"I was told you were dying," Zeynep calmly said and looked sideways at Fehime, who looked to the floor.

"Well yeah, I had a stroke two days ago. I just came back last night."

"Great! Then I'll just go back then. My suitcase is still packed." Zeynep spat, wheeling her suitcase to the front.

"Actually, you and I have some business to discuss..."

"You and I have no business to discuss." Zeynep cut and started walking to the door, but her father stopped her.

"You can't leave the city let alone the country. Your passport will be denied."

There it was. The oh so lovely father detaining his daughter.

Zeynep froze and threw her head back.

"But you just got here after a long time! Go freshen up, I have to get back to work. We'll talk after dinner."

Hussein Soydere didn't even say goodbye and left the house talking on his phone.

Zeynep turned to Fehime again, but before she could say anything, Zeynep started walking to the guest room.

"I am so sorry, aziz! I didn't even know he messaged you from my phone. I'm so sorry."

Zeynep pushed open the guest room door and left it open as she walked in, Fehime came in after her.

"Z-" Fehime started but cut herself odd when Zeynep threw her suitcase in the room.

Zeynep sat on the bed with a heavy heart and Fehime slowly walked closer and sat next to her. She threw her head on her nanny's lap and cried.
