Chapter 21:

A few months later:

Vikky’s POV:

I was lying on my tummy on me and Adam’s bed when Adam walked in and put his work boots on the shoe rack in the closet. I turned and laid on my side and watched as he took off his work clothes and just walked over to me in his shorts and bent down and kissed me.

“Hi baby how you feeling?” He asked looking down at me.

“Like crap. My mom made a doctors appointment for me for tomorrow. Will you come with me?”

“Of course baby girl.”

I smiled and looked up at Adam who was looking at his phone.

“What?”

“Your dad texted me. Something’s wrong.”

I got up and threw on one of Adam’s sweatshirts and threw on my flip flops. Adam grabbed my keys and we left for the hospital. My mom has been having pains in her stomach for a month and the doctor’s just keep sending her home and putting her on bed rest. She’s only about 7 months so far. We drove to the hospital and when we got there and the car was parked we ran inside and got sent up to my mom’s room.

When we walked into the room, I saw my dad holding my mom who was crying. I stopped in my tracks and my dad looked up he had tears running down his face.

I looked at my mom and she tried to stop crying but I could tell she couldn’t. Adam was holding onto me since I was ready to fall to the ground any second. I put my hand on a seat and he walked over and asked my dad what happened. Adam hugged my parents and walked over to me.

“What happened?”

“Vikky lets go in the hall.”

“Adam what happened?”

“The baby. It was born to early. Its in the ICU.”

I ran out of the room and towards the ICU. A nurse stopped me and I was crying.

“Where is the baby that was born to the Montgomery’s?”

“In b-645. Who are you?”

“I’m the babies’ older sister. I need to see the baby please. Just let me go in there.”

The nurse nodded and showed me into the room. I put a mask on and a robe before walking in so I wouldn’t contaminate the room. There was a small incubator in the middle of the room hooked up to other machines. I walked over to the incubator and looked down at the baby. The nurse brought me over a chair and I sat and looked at the baby.

“What is it?”

“It’s a baby girl. Your parents named her angel.”

I smiled and looked at my baby sister Angel. Adam walked into the room dressed the same way as me and stood over me looking at Angel. He looked at me and I looked up at him and began to cry. He bent down and held me in his arms as I cried looking at my little sister who was fighting for her life in that incubator. The nurse walked over and asked if we wanted to hold her. I looked at her surprised and then nodded. She took Angel out of the incubator and put a breathing mask on her and handed us the baby. I sat in the chair holding my little sister smiling. I looked at her with prayers already in mind. I bent down closer to Angel and kissed her little forehead. She began to move in my arms and I looked up at Adam and he had tears in his eyes. He just met this little girl and he already loved her like a little sister. I kissed her head once more and handed her back to the nurse and she put her back into the incubator.
