Chapter 6- The Bombshell

" I have called you all here for a very important and shocking reason. What I am about to tell you, has just come from Director Fury himself on a secure channel." 

Coulson seems upset so I ask him

" What is it?" 

" Skye on the database is a file labeled 'The Ghost',  can you please open it and put it on the big screen."

I let go of Ward's hand and walk to the table, and open a search and type in 'The Ghost'. When the file pops uo I click on it, to open it. A password screen pops up.

"I can't open it, there is a password protection on it." I say

"Surely you can open it Skye" Coulson answers

"With this team, I have learned that if it is password protected than it is password protected for a reason and that I shouldn't open it without permission or orders." I say

" Well consider this an order Skye, open that folder. You will not need to hack it. The password is specialist."

I type in specialist into the password box and the file opens. The first thing I see is a whole bunch of documents with a red classified across them. I glance at Coulson, who nods his head. But before I put the documents up on the big screen foe the entire team to see, a word catches my attention, or should I say a name at the top of the first document. 

The name I see is a name that I never wanted to see or hear again. 

"Skye, put the folder up on the big screen, please." Coulson says

I glance at him and then I look back at the table.

If I put this up on the big screen, then everyone will see and I will have no choice but to face this name and person again.

I don't want to go against Coulson, but I can't let the team get involved in this case. If they do get involved in this case then they will all die and I don't want to see them die. Especially Ward. That is what I fear most. Is seeing Ward get hurt and die. 

Because the that I make a decision. I decide that instead of put all of The Ghost file content up onto the big screen I will put a different file up. The file called The Ghost , the one I made to replace the S.H.I.E.L.D. file.

I quickly change the files around and put it up. 

But my change didn't go unnoticed. Ward noticed and points it out

"Skye, why did you change the file?"

I gulp, I had hoped no one would notice. 

"Skye" Coulson's voice holds a questioning tone

I look up from the table and directly at Coulson

"It would be better if this case is untouched by this team. As of now the original file is sealed by a code that only I know and only I can open it. This case is not for this team Coulson, trust me."

I wait for Coulson's answer.

"This case was given to us specifically by Director Fury and only Fury knows this case exists. So how do you know about it and what do you know about that you don't want us to participate in this case?" 

I look from team member to team member and leave Ward until last. When I look at him he looks worried and confused. Without saying a word, with his eyes,  he is begging me to explain my actions. So I decide too.

"This case is personal. Not just for me, but for some other people, some friends of mine. I can't tell you all of what I know, for various reasons, but I will tell you what I can. This case is a very dangerous case. There have been a number of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who have worked this case with the confedence of Fury that they will succeed but they haven't, instead they have been seriously injured or killed. Whenever someone gets close to 'The Ghost' they end up dead or seriously injured. This guy knows what he is doing. He is a particular person who has abilities, he sells himself to the highest bid for a certain period of time and he does what they pay him to do and he does the job brilliantly. He gets in gets the job done and get out quickly. After every job, he disappears for a period of time and then reappears. This is peronal for me, because 'The Ghost' killed a friend of mine. He is very dangerous. Everyone who investigates him or gets close to finding him either gets seriously injured and killed. That is the way he wants it. He doesn't want anyone to know who he is, including his employers, that is why he deals with them over the phone or txt message."

I look at everyone to see theire reactions.

"Is that all you can tell us?" asks May

"No" I answer

"What else can you tell us?"

"I know where 'The Ghost; is going to be in 2 weeks. I also know who is paying him to do his next job and who his next target is." 

"Well tell us"

"He will be in Paris in 2 weeks and his next target isn't just one target, but a group of targets."

"And who is the employer?"

"You are not going to like it" 

"Just tell us"

"Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you. The employer is the Clairvoyent"

There are gasps from everyone.

"The Clairvoyent. Our Clairvoyent. The one we have been hearing so much about." asks Fitz

"Yes"

"Ok before anyone asks anything else, we need to know who the targets are." says Coulson

I gulp

"The targets are:  Maria Hill, Director Fury, Melinda May." 

There is a long silence after I finish talking. 

"Alright, here is what we are going to do. Skye, we trust you so don't let us read that 'The Ghost' file, but we are going to go to Paris and stop this murder of Maria Hill, Director Fury and Melinda May. May get this plane up in ther air and set coordinates for Paris. Maria and Director Fury are already in Paris meeting with some government official, so we are on our way. I suggest that we all get some rest, before we arrive in Paris, we are going to need it."

We all head off to our rooms for some rest. Ward leads me to his room. And we get some rest.
