The battle

Ethan POV

I woke up feeling very drowsy. To my surprise, Zoe was sitting next to me. I sat up, then fell back down again, feeling dizzy. Zoe noticed and muttered, "Good, you are awake."

"How long was I out?" I asked her.

"Five days," she replied simply. What! I was out for five days? Then, I noticed something weird. 

"Erm... why are you the one beside me when there are other boys to take care of me?" I inquired. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Zoe stiffen. 

"Because its my shift?" she said it more like a question than an answer. I decided to believe her for now. 

"Where are the others?" I asked.

"They are, well, erm..." For once, Zoe looked like she was at a loss for words. I could faintly see a tear in her eye, threatening to drip out. "It is better if you see for yourself." 

She led me to the ship deck. There, I saw all my friends crouched in a cirle. Percy was the first to notice me and he came up to me. 

"Good to see that you are awake," he said, smiling but I knew that he was saddened. "The only reason we haven't burnt her body yet is because we thought you might want to pay your last respects."

"To who?" I asked as he led me into the middle of the circle. Then, I realised who it was. Bianca di Angelo lay before me, dead, in a funeral shroud.

"How did this happen?" I asked. 

Percy just replied, "Pay your respects first."

I did and Nico stepped up.

"Goodbye Bianca," he muttered as he took a burning stick from Leo and lit the shroud. We watched as the final sparks of fire flickered away.

Zoe POV

As I watched the last sparks from the fire disappear, I was suddenly hit by the memory.

*Flashback starts*

We were flying particularly low that day when we saw a big monster army of about 500 or so. We immediately got ready for battle.

"ITS CAPTAIN MC SHIZZLE!" Leo screamed and ran into battle. The rest of us followed suit. I stabbed a dracaena in the gut and ducked under a cyclops club. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Percy fighting the titan Hyperion, who had somehow escaped the maple tree. Frank had transformed into a dragon and was carrying Leo, who was shooting fireballs into the monster crowd.

Thalia was fending off a hyperborean giant off with her spear as Jason crept behind it. A hellhound lunged at me but I shot it easily. Suddenly, a group of skeleton warriors came into battle. I saw Bianca and Nico raising the dead and they started attacking the monsters. Hazel was defending them while they did their work. 

I shot many more monsters and I saw that there was only a few left. Suddenly, a ear-piercing scream filled the battle. Nico had fallen to the ground in despair and Hazel had dropped her weapon, staring at something. I rushed over and knew what had happened. Bianca di Angelo was dead, a spear impaled in her heart. A cyclops stood over her, triumphant. 

"ARGH!!!" Nico let loose a blast of dark energy so strong that all the monsters less than a mile away got incinerated on the spot. Hazel put her hand on Nico's  shoulder and immediately calmed down. 

"Oh Bianca, what have I done?" Nico fell to the floor yet again. The rest of us fell silent , shocked that we had lost one member of our team.

*flashback ends*

"Goodbye Bianca," I muttered.

Hi guys! Sorry but I could not make this Ethoe. I think the next one will be. Please don't kill me for killing Bianca. Anyway, it is a record for me. 605 words.
