Eliza p.o.v
Me, Alex, John, Hercules, and laff all sat at a booth at a restaurant for my 16th birthday. I had told people not to give me presents but knowing my friends they did anyway.
I had always been that girl who was a tomboy and never really had "girl friends " the only friends I had who were girls were my sister's. Angelica and Peggy.
"Ok ok! Open this one!" Said Hercules practically throwing me my present at my face.
As I opened my gift laughing a bit I saw it was some cute blue converse high tops. My friends know me enough to never get me a dress or heels but cute converse were perfect.
I had opened everyone's gift expect for Alex's. Me and him have been friends since 1rst grade when all of us met on the playground. We used to "date " back then and one day he asked me to marry him but I said we were to young and to ask me when we were older. But eventually he got over that and now all of us are just friends.
"Ok here you go Liza!" Said Alex sliding the box to me across the table. It was wrapped in a light blue box. My favorite color.
As I opened the box I saw a silver chain that had my name liza in small cursive letters.
"Oh Alex it's beautiful" i say putting it on as Lafayette helped me.
I wore it the rest of the day. It was one of my best birthdays ever .
It was around 9:00 when I got a text from Alex.
Alex: hey Eliza meet me at the barn in 5 min.
Eliza:ok.
When me Alex laff and herc were younger there was the barn made for all the kids in the community. It had a play ground a pool a gym. Everything. But now it was old and rusty but we still liked it.
As I approached the big barn I saw Alex sitting by the pool. "Hi" I said sitting down next to him.
"Hi" he said gently. "Liza I have been meaning to tell you something. I really like you and have liked you since that time I proposed in first grade. I know I could never be good enough for you but I would like to try" he said gently taking my hand.
I couldn't even believe what was happening. "Alex I like you to...." i said softly as we sat there in comforting silence.
Then I fell.
I fell into the water. I couldn't swim. Suddenly I felt a strong pair of arms pull me out of the cold water. It was Alex. He took his jacket and wrapped it around me.
He asked me if I was ok. But I had never felt better in my life. We went to his house and he gave me one of his t-shirts since t-shirts are what I usually were.
We watched a movie and sat on the couch. Me in his arms. It felt right. "Happy birthday liza " he said before I fell asleep.
