Life is a strange adventure, you don’t know when something can go wrong and when something good will happen to you, this defines the soul of our divine creator. He put air in our lungs to help us live and a heart to feel real emotions to feel the people around us, to know that as long as your heart beats its feeling something inside.

My heart so far has felt pain, sorrow, happiness and love. You can’t feel happiness without sorrow and you can’t feel love without pain.

I walked up into Sean’s guest room to see Susan fast asleep on the bed, I walked over to the bed and sat next to Susan’s sleeping body. I sat there for a while thinking about the events that happened not a long time ago.

I got up and walked out of the room, I heard music playing in one of the rooms, and it was the sound of a piano. I heard a male voice sing and I instantly recognized Sean’s voice.

Say something I’m giving up on you” he sang while playing the piano.

And I am feeling so small” I sang this time walking into the room, taking a seat next to Sean in front of the piano.

It was over my head, I know nothing at all” we sang together.

And I will stumble and fall, I’m still learning to love, just started to crawl

“Say something I’m giving up on you” we ended the chorus and Sean stopped playing the piano.

“I didn’t know you could play the piano”

“I didn’t know you could sing” I smiled and looked around the room. It had a few more instruments and music notes all over the walls. I walked around the big room twirling around in my pjs and then looked up and saw Sean with his arms crossed looking in amusement.

“What I always wanted to twirl in a music room” I said shrugging. He just shook his head and stayed there. For the first time I noticed no-one else was in the room and in fact in this house.

“Sean where’s your family?” I asked standing in the middle of the room.

“They don’t live here” he said shrugging and walking out of the room without another word. I ran behind him and asked him again

“So you live here alone?”

“Technically yes I do” I decided to keep my mouth shut and go with it.

“Come with me” he said holding his hand out for me. I took his hand and followed his lead; we went up through the ladder onto the roof. He sat on the roof looking at the stars. The stars were dancing in the sky and it was as if the sky was alive.

“I never knew the sky could be so breathtaking”

“You’ve just got to notice the little things” He said in a husky voice. A bright shooting star crossed the sky like a silver lining.

“Make a wish” he said

“I wish everything would be normal” I said sighing with a heavy heart.

“It will be” he said looking at me with a genuine smile.

We got off the roof and came back inside; it had gotten a little chilly inside, which gave me Goosebumps all over my arms.

“Night” I said to Sean before walking up to the guest room and lying down next to Susan. I pulled the blanket over my arms and fell asleep.

I woke up with light rays touching my face; it felt warm and fuzzy, so I pulled the blanket over my head.

“Wake up Maddy bear” I looked up to see Susan standing there trying to hold back a laugh but failed.

“Ha ha real mature Suize pooh” This time it was my turn to laugh, her expression was priceless. When we were little our aunt used to call us ‘Maddy bear’ and ‘Suize pooh’ which was quite annoying.

She threw a pillow at me and I proceeded to do the same, we had a mini pillow fight until both of us got tired and lay on the bed in a fit of giggles.

“That was fun” she said propped on her shoulders.

“Yeah that was, now come on and get dressed” I said getting up proceeding towards the bathroom.

“Well I did not now I had to pack” she at least was wearing short jeans; I on the other hand was in my pjs.

“Well then just freshen up will yeah?” I walked into the bathroom where I used the mouth wash, washed my face with whatever face wash in there, tied my hair in a bun and walked back down.

The smell of something amazing was coming from the kitchen; it was just like it those cartoons where the smell dragged you to the kitchen.

I walked in exhaling the warm chocolate smell which filled my nostrils.

“Morning” I said watching Sean making pancakes? I arched my eyebrow up and then took some flour in my hand and threw it at his head, that’s when I burst into a fit of giggles.

“Really, do something nice for someone, and you get flour thrown on yourself is just plain rudeness”

“Are the pancakes ready yet” I said sitting on the island.

“Completely ignore my question though” I rolled my eyes and grabbed one pancake from the stack and started eating it.

“Oi! You don’t eat from between the stacks” he said raising his spatula in front of me, I raised my hand in surrender still stuffing the pancake down my throat.

“It’s not my fault these pancakes are to die for” I said finally after stuffing my face.

“Clearly I can see that” I walked over to the stove where he was flipping pancakes and started making more batter.

“What do you think you’re doing?” He said looking quite offended.

“Um making more batter since I have a sister, who eats as much as me” I said once again adding more flour in the bowl.

“You’re putting too much flour” he commented

“And you’re burning the pancake” He looked at the pancake on the stove and muttered a few curse words before flipping it out and onto the stack.

“That’s too much flour” he said pulling the packet again from me.

“Not it isn’t” I said pulling it towards me.

“Yes it is”

“No its not” In between the struggle The packet tore sending flour over me, and to top it off, my hit the batter bowl sending everything it contained on me and there I was on the flour covered in batter.

Sean being Sean burst into a fit of laughter on the floor, while I tried to make my best grumpy face.

“Looks like karma got to you” He said still laughing on the floor. I whipped some batter off me and threw it in Sean’s direction, now it was my turn to laugh.

He grabbed an egg and started to throw it near my feet causing me to jump, while laughing; I ran for the maple syrup from the island and poured the yummy goodness on this head.

The look on his face was like snatching candy from a baby.

“Looks like karma got to you” I said laughing, this time we both sat on the flour and started to laugh while trying to still throw something at each other.

“What in the name of god happened here?!” We looked up to see Susan standing there with her arms crossed looking at us like crazy.

“You had a food fight without me!” she pouted and started to laugh along with us. We had whatever remaining breakfast was there, but it was time to leave. Susan got in the car, typing away on her phone.

“Hey thanks again for letting us stay” I said turning around to face him.

“It wasn’t such a big deal” He said shrugging

“It is for me” I said turning to look at Susan then back to Sean. I gave him a quick hug.

“You’re not as bad as you want people to think” I said before walking away towards the direction of my car. I gave him one last smile before getting in and driving back home
