The night was cold and dark as the red moon sat in the sky, looking down on the world below. Although the stone walls of the castle made things darker and colder. The knight was walking through the long dark hallways that were only lit by a few torches here and there. He was wearing full armor, except the helmet. He wandered the dark hallways until he found the doors to the throne room. Where he has to report in to his lord.
He knocked once on the big doors and a fellow knight opened the door. Peeking through the crack at him the brother knight who guarded the door nodded as he opened the door wider for him. The knight entered and looked around the throne room, only to see it darker than the rest of the castle. He had never seen the lord’s face, in fact he remembered that no one had ever seen his face.
"Come in and give me my report," said the voice coming from the other end of the room. The knight walked closer to the center of the hall before kneeling down. "My lord, the..." he searched for the right words to say.
"What is it captain? Has a cat caught your tongue?" said the voice, which was smooth and snake-like.
"N-no, my lord, it’s just," the captain shifts a bit. "The dragons have escaped,” he stammered.
The Lord rose and approached the captain in a dark cloak that hid his face. The Lord stepped closer to the point where the captain could only see his eyes, which he swore looked like they were the color of blood.
"And have you recaptured them captain?" asked the Lord in a voice that was starting to turn raspy and dark.
Now the captain was worried. "W-we only managed to kill one of them but the other one..." he trailed off.
"What about the other one?" the lord asked with an even darker and more raspy voice.
"The other one has escaped," the nervous knight replied, eyes downcast.
The lord flicked his hand and a strong burst of wind threw the captain to the wall, pinning him down. The captain groaned in pain and looked at the Lord and saw his hand glowing green. The captain remembered that the color usually represented the element of wind.
"You disappoint me captain," the lord said with a loud raspy voice."M-my lord! I-I'm sure we can find her."
"Ah but I need that dragon before the next blood moon." The captain looked at him stunned and confused.
"Why is this dragon important?"
"Because captain," the lord's hand started to glow a dark purple with black. "She is the key to everything." He then threw a black and purple flame at the captain.
The captain started screaming in pain as the flames burn his flesh. The lord smirked as he heard the screaming and the captain fell to the ground, rolling and screaming. The lord started to walk back towards the throne, but quickly turned back towards the knight and struck him with a dark lightning from his hand.
As the pain was starting to fade and his vision began to go dark, the captain thought once again of the dragon, that takes the form of a human girl.
Yui. Forgive me. I failed you. Thought the captain before everything went dark.
