The afternoon was warm, with a small breeze blowing through. The blue roses move slightly beneath the breeze that looks as though they were waves in the sea.

Its been a day since I woke up from my long sleep. Despite having only woken up, Al and Yui wanted me to help with preparing for a trip. A trip to the kingdom of Vahanna, to the Castle town of Vaha. At that point, I just wonder where people get the names from.

I was later told that the kingdom is a very diverse kingdom. Where people from all over gather to trade goods, to see the scenery, or to even join the royal guard.
Al says that we are going because in a few months there will be a festival held there that takes place every year. Though he didn't reveal what happens in the festival.

"How about you wait and see for yourself what the festival is like." Al said with a hearty laugh.

I think he was hiding something else about why we are going too, but I didn't press him for anything else. Yui on the other hand taught me a few tricks with the sword so that I could defend myself out in the wild.
Although Al then tested me with the sword. Despite his age, he was fast and was VERY skilled. The duel ended with me out of breath and him saying that I was ready enough.

The rest of the time, I helped with packing and Al gave me an iron sword and a small knife. He then said that I will be needing those for the trip tomorrow.

After a small dinner, we all then head to our bedrooms. After washing the sheets, they let me stay in the bedroom that I was recovering in.

I set the sword next to the bed and the knife on the small table in the room. I then lay down on the bed, exhausted, I let my thoughts wander as I try to drift to sleep. I wonder what this world will be like out there? I thought. What will be waiting in this large new world?

My thoughts keep flowing as my eyes slowly close as I drift to sleep.

A loud crash and glass shattering wakes me up. I get up and look around my room but gladly I see nothing other than the sword, knife, and no one else in there. I quickly put on my sword and my knife on a belt. I then quietly draw my sword for I fear that the rest of the house is not safe.

I quietly open the door and as I open it, I hear the sound of chains rattling, raspy moans, and heavy footsteps.

I peek around the corner and I a creature standing in the hallway. The creature was a humanoid, with chains wrapped around its body except its arms, legs, and head. The bottom part of its jaw was hanging limply, barely hanging on with rotting pieces of flesh. Its eyes were blood red and were focused on where I was looking as it stumbles toward me.

It then raises a brown bronze short sword and lunges. I took my sword and deflected the lunge. I then swung my sword quickly afterwards. I turn to see if the creature was dead but it was getting up. Though the creature didn't come up with its head attached.
The creature turns around but stops as I hear the chains jerk a bit. The body then collapses with Al behind it with a knife in his hands. The body of the creature starts to turn into black mist but the smell of something rotting was still there when the body vanishes.

Al was wearing a great sword on his back with a katana on his right side. "Looks like you could handle yourself," says Al. "These are called night crawlers. Undead creatures that feast on the living."
He turns around at the sound of more chains and footsteps. "And where there is one, there is more coming," says Al. "I will handle things here and you go look for Yui."
I look at him surprised and unsure. Will he be able to handle things here at his old age? I thought.
When Al starts rushing down the hallway while taking out the greatsword, I knew that he should be fine.
