The car was silent. The only sounds came from the radio as background noise. Sidney looked over at her daughter, who was staring out the passage window, toying with the necklace that Derek had given Sidney, and she had given to Liz when she was young.
"You're going to like Woodsboro. Its a good town." Liz gave a sarcastic, breathy laugh.
"Yeah. A good town full of crazy people that will avoid us the the plague. Again."
They were moving to Woodsboro, or back in Sidney's case, because they needed a fresh start. Liz had been bullied to the point of depression and Sidney thought it would be a good idea to move next to Dewey and Gale so that Liz could be with the childhood best friend.
"Come on baby, it'll be good for us. You'll be going to my old school with Sammy. You guys are in the same grade now."
Liz smiled and looked at her mother. It was hard to be sad when Sidney's cheery.
"Okay, I'll try. But I swear, one crude remark, and a bitch is going to be on the floor."
Sidney busted out laughing. She tried gto give Liz a stern look.
"Watch *laugh* watch your laugage."
Liz laugh back, and they countinude joking and teasing until they drove into a beautiful neighborhood. As they pulled in to the driveway of a beautiful new looking house, the front door of the house next door was thrown open and petit girl with light brown hair came running out, and straight for the car. Liz jumped out of the car as soon as she could get her seat belt off.
''LIZZY!"
"SAMMY!"
The two teens met in the middle and, hugged tightly as their parents laughed at the sight. Sidney walked from the car to her two old friends standing in the yard.
"Dewey. Gale. It's so good to see you again."
"Hey Sid." She hugged Dewey, then Gale.
"You look great Sidney. Really happy."
"I'm just happy about being back home and having a fresh start."
Sidney turned towards the girls talking a mile a minute, with huge grins on their faces. "And its nice to see her to smile like that again." She turned back at the sound of Dewey's voise.
"Hey, what happend to her anyway? You were very vage on the phone." Sidney was about to answer, but turnede when she heard Liz call for her.
"Hey mom, Sammy and I want to check out my room. Can I have the keys?"
Sidney nodds and pulled them out of her pocket, quickly tossing them. Liz caught them with ease and headed towards the house, Sam on the heels.
"She's got great reflexes."
"Yeah, she does." Sidney waits for the girls to disappear into the house before turning back the Dewey and Gale.
"How 'bout we talk inside?" They nodde in agreement and headed towards their own home.
When the trio were seated on the couch, Sidney spoke.
"Okay, so a couple months ago i noticed Liz start to get distant, and more quiet. And when I asked her about it, she wouldn't talk to me."
Dewey and Gale had concerned looks. They knew it must be pretty serious if she wouldn't talk to Sidney. Liz and Sideney had always had a strong relationship. And it got even stronger after what happend last year with Sidney's cusin, Jill.
Sidney gave a sad smile and looked down as Gale spoke up
"Did she ever tell you why?" Sidney nodded, looking around the room.
"Yeah. She, uh, broke down and told me thhat people were messing with her at school. About me."
Sidney had a guilty look on her face, again staring at her feet. Gale and Dewey were too shocked to react. A long silence fell among them, before Sidney rose to her feet.
"I'm gonna go check on the girls." The two nodded and Gale spoke.
"Tell Sam to head back please."
Sideny simply nods, before leave to hunt down the teens next door.
