"Loki!" Thor's voice bellowed through the night "What took you so long?" Then the God of Thunder noticed the bundle in Loki's arms and asked, "What have you got there?" "I found her in the forest, she requires a healer." Loki's voice was cold and, seeing the surprised look on his brother's face, he added sarcastically, "Would you have rather had me leave her to the hounds, brother?" Loki purposefully brushed against Thor's shoulder as he pushed past him. Already regretting that he had brought the girl. Thor furrowed his brow. Had Loki done something selfless? Despite of himself? He could feel that Loki struggled with his actions as he obviously could not admit that he enough to save someone's life. But he did. Loki cared ... at least just enough to save a life.
Loki's nature was fickle and Thor still found himself unable to trust his foster brother fully, yet they had finally become more like brothers again. Thor knew well that Loki had changed and tried to redeem himself. The Jotun prince carried out his duties with more care and seriousness than even Thor himself. But then, Loki had always been diligent in everything he did. Even so, the the God of Thunder was not blind to his brother's feelings that he so carefully hid under a calm demeanour. The bitterness and utter lack of Loki's once light-hearted sense of mischief betrayed a seething fire of self-hatred that smoldered underneath the surface.
The God of Thunder caught up with the dark prince. He missed Loki's mischievous side. Raising his hammer towards the sky, about to call on Heimdall to bring them back to Asgard, Thor could not help but tease the God of Mischief a little. "You are not going to make this kind of thing a habit, are you?" "What exactly?" Loki sneered, obviously annoyed. "Good deeds, Loki. It is so unlike you, brother." Thor smirked. Loki scowled. How he hated it when Thor got pleasure from his discomfort and had the indecency to make fun this situation. "No need to be concerned. I am still cursing myself for being idiotic enough to stop for the mortal. Just because I did not leave her to die, does not mean I care. A hot bath and my bed in Asgard is all I care for." He glared at the God of Thunder and hissed, "So, for the Norns sake, let us not waste any more time in this dreaded realm."
