❧ "You're nervous, aren't you?" ☙

"That's an understatement, Charlene," Hugo muttered.

It was the first day of school, the day Hugo had been looking forwards to since he was 6.

Charlene laughed. "You'll be fine. Everyone is going to have a new start sometime in their lives. Besides, everyone else is going to be new, too."

"But they'll all have friends from the previous schools," Hugo argued. "I'm the only one who got into Star King Academy."

Charlene sighed. "You'll be fine. Trust me. You'll see...what's his name again? The boy you always talk about."

Hugo realized he never got his soulmate's name. Well, he was going to get it today. He hopes.

~Time Skip~

Hugo gulped as he pushed open the doors to the school. Star King Academy was huge! How was he going to find the boy in this crowd of people? Not to mention that he must've changed so much in the six years that they haven't seen each other. Who knew what he looked like now.

Hugo sighed and took out his timetable.

Semester 1

9:00-10:00 Math, room 9

10:10-11:10 Language, room 28

11:20-12:20 Lunch, cafeteria

12:30-1:30 Art, room 20A

1:40-2:40 History, room 12

Semester 2

9:00-10:00 Geography, room 8

10:10-11:10 Gym, room 30 (gymnasium)

11:20-12:20 Lunch, cafeteria

12:30-1:30 French, room 20B

1:40-2:40 Science, room 18

Room 9. He was standing in front of room 6, so count 3 doors...this was room 9. Hugo checked his watch. It was 8:15, which meant that there was still 45 minutes before class started. He decided to put his things in the classroom first before going around the rest of the school to see where the rest of his classrooms were.

The first two classes went by pretty smoothly. The classes mostly consisted of the teacher handing out forms and doing basic introductions.

But now, it was lunch time, and Hugo did not know where to sit. The cafeteria too, like the school, was huge. There looked to be at least 200 kids, either seated, or milling around in their friend groups. Hugo felt so lonely.

A sudden shove from behind him caused him to fall forward, his lunch box rolling a few metres away from him.

"Hey guys! Hey Moonboy! I'm here!" The boy who had shoved past him yelled, not even bothering to say sorry to Hugo.

As he joined his group of friends, the tallest one who seemed to be the leader out of all of them, patted him on the back. But the one beside the leader, glared at the boy.

"What?" he asked unconcernedly.

The boy walked in front of Hugo and extended his hand. Hugo took it, and he was pulled to his feet. As their hands touched, Hugo felt an electric shock going through his arm. But he didn't have time to think too much about it. Another boy from the group grabbed Hugo's lunch box and handed it back to him.

"Here."

"Thanks," Hugo responded.

"No problem, I'm Sungwoo, by the way."

"I'm Simon," the one who looked to be the leader, introduced. "And this is Evan, Max, and Winston."

"Sorry for bumping into you," Winston apologized.

"It's ok."

"Would you like to sit with us for lunch?" Sungwoo offered.

"Sure."

"You can sit with us everyday at lunch from now on!" Winston added.

Not long after they settled by a table near the window, Hugo subconsciously brushed his hand against Evan's and felt another electric wave. He glanced at Evan, but the other was too absorbed in his food to notice.

"Hugo?" Sungwoo's voice brought him back to reality.

"Huh? Sorry...what?"

"Can I see your schedules? Both of them?"

"Oh, sure. Here."

Hugo handed Sungwoo his schedules and the latter scanned over it.

"Hey, I had Math with you this morning! How did I not notice you?"

Hugo shrugged. "I don't know."

Winston leaned over his seat to look at Hugo's schedule as well. "I have lunch with you next semester too!"

"All the grade 7s have lunch together, idiot," Evan spoke, eyes still on his food.

Simon sniggered. "You seriously didn't know that, Win?"

"Aw, come on, don't bully me, Moonboy!"

Hugo perked up. "Moonboy?"

"That's what they call Evan," Sungwoo explained. "We all have nicknames in our group that we call each other sometimes, and some are really lame, to be honest, like mine."

"But Woonie is so cute!" Winston argued. "And WooWoo!"

Sungwoo face palmed.

"Maxieeeeeeee!" Winston continued. "Monnie and MOONBOY!"

"The 3 M's and 2 W's," Sungwoo stated. "How original."

"M. W. M. W. M.!" Winston yelled.

"Great," Simon said sarcastically.

Winston pouted and crossed his arms, only to stop his pout when Max fed him a spoon of rice, which he quickly chewed and swallowed, and resumed his pouting.

Sungwoo sighed and handed Hugo his timetables back. "How can this be?" he muttered to himself. Still, Hugo heard it, though.

"What?" Hugo asked.

"For people to have the exact same classes for a semester," he explained. "Look at Evan's timetable."

Hugo stared. Evan the exact same classes with him, other than Math and Language.

"Is this...not usual?" he asked.

Sungwoo shook his head. "Normally students don't exceed more than 3 classes per semester with another student. In this case, you and Evan already have 3 classes together on the first semester, and you have the exact same timetable for the second. I don't think anything like this has happened before. It's really weird."

"But look on the bright side," Winston butted in. "At least you'll have someone you know."

Hugo nodded. "True."
