friendship

Millie's heart was in her throat when ninth grader Finn Wolfhard walked up to her smiling.

"Hey." He says

"H-Hi." Millie grins

"What'd you want to talk to me about?" Finn asks

"Your smile- um- I mean, I was wondering if you'd want to hang out with me Saturday. I have no plans and just want someone to goof off with." Millie says

"Um, I'm actually hosting a party Saturday night. You can come if you want to. You can bring your friends too." Finn offers putting his pale hands in his jean pockets.

"Um, yeah sure. I'll let you know." Millie grins

"Cool, see you later." Finn walks away leaving Millie alone with cherry red cheeks.

It was time for Lunch and Sadie was sitting alone at her usual table waiting for her friends to arrive. Yes, she does have more friends than just Millie. A plate plops down beside Millie.

"Is this seat taken?" A familiar voice asks

Sadie turns and is greeted with a smiling Caleb McLaughlin. "Not at all, sit." Then Sadie other friends slowly began setting their plates on the table. Then finally Millie was last.

"Oh, hey Caleb." Millie winks at Sadie who was sitting oddly close to Caleb. Sadie clears her throat.

"Everyone this is Caleb, he moved in that house in front of me yesterday. Caleb this is, Maddie Ziegler, Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Lieberher, he doesn't talk much, and Jack Grazer." Sadie introduces everyone then leans close to Caleb and whispers. "Jack's gay but doesn't like to talk about it."

"I heard that missy." Jack says popping a fry in his mouth.

"Its nice to meet you Caleb." Maddie says speaking for everyone on the table.

"Guys! I have big news." Millie smiles "Finn Wolfhard invited me to his party Saturday!"

"Hold on, the Finn Wolfhard as in hottest guy in school?" Sophia asks

Millie nods happily. "You guys should totally come!"

"Millie, I'm not a party person." Sadie says scrunching her nose.

"Come on Sadie! Just this once? For me." Millie puckers out her bottom lip acting sad.

"I'll go if Caleb goes with me." Sadie smiles at Caleb.

"Oh, I dunno. I just moved in." Caleb says

"Parties are the best way to meet new people!" Sadie says

"I'll think about it." Caleb says

"I just met you Caleb, but my ship has sailed." Jack smiles

"What?" Jaeden asks

"Is that a joke? Because Sadie Sink will sink your ship." Sadie laughs

"Ha Ha, nice pun Sadie. I'm serious you two are already adorable together." Jack says.

Sadie face turns red and she lays her head on the table to hide it.
