(Eren)

Visiting Armin, I didn't even bother to tell him about Reiner. Annie told me she told him. Even though there was a chance he couldn't hear her. But in case he can hear still, she told him.

Mikasa stood by my side. His eyes were closed. He breathed softly. Jean gave a depressing news to us this morning. Saying that if he didn't wake up by this morning, he would die tonight.

I prayed for him to open his eyes. Mikasa blinked. Still standing by me. She never left my side.

He was breathing better than of how he was before. But just because his breathing was increasing, doesn't mean he would live today.

I took a deep yawn. I was way too sleepy. But I didn't care.

Hours passed and nothing. The sun was setting. It was almost time. 60 seconds left.

ARMIN! IT'S NOW OR NEVER!

50 seconds. His time was running out. I started to panic.

40 seconds. Still nothing.

30 seconds. Armin come on.

20 seconds. Wake up!

10 seconds. I leaned closer. Mikasa froze.

5....4....3....2....1

I felt like I died before him. His face was ghost white. As if he was snow or milk.

I saw his lips turn to a light blue mixed with a purple.

Armin was my friend. My first friend. And he's gone.

"Armin." Mikasa said. Trying not to sob. I had every flashback we had together.

Our lives. Our hopes. Our dreams. Everything.

I felt tears slide down my cheeks. I let out a soft chuckle, then turned into a cry.

I got up and my shaking legs walked to the door. Mikasa by my side.

I turned around back at Armin.

He moved.

I stopped walking. I looked at Armin in shocked. Mikasa followed my gaze.

He moved. Again.

I walked closer to his body. He didn't move. My eyes must be playing tricks on me.

"Eren come on. Let's go." Mikasa whispered. I walked away from Armin again. When I heard him move in his bed.

We stopped walking. Slowly turning around, we blinked with our mouths opened a little bit. Then his eyes....

Snapped open.

(Armin)

I awoke in a bed. Looking around I found Eren and Mikasa by my side. I had my eyes wide, to get a clearer view. Eren was crying.

He shook his head, and let out a cry before falling on his knees and hugging me tight. Sobbing.

"You...you...." He was sobbing so hard, he could barley finish. "Came back."

"Of course I did. I-" Eren squeezed me. "I couldn't leave you."

Eren cried harder. I knew that he knew I died. But I had to make him happy by coming back to life. So we can live our dream. Our only dream.

The ocean.

I looked at Mikasa. A smile appeared at my lips. I could tell she was happy.

"Smile." I said. "I won't tell." She then broke into tears and hugged my stomach.

I looked around. I wanted to see Annie.

"Can-" Eren interrupted.

"Reiner's trial is tomorrow." He said. "We know he raped you."

"I know, because Annie told me." I said. "Now can-"

"And they said once you wake up, you must go and testify." He finished. I froze.

I couldn't walk at all. I haven't gotten food in so long, nor water. I'm too weak.

"Can we do the trial a different day?" I asked. "I'm so weak."

"We'll try." Eren said. I took a deep breath.

"Now, can I see Annie?" I asked. Mikasa and Eren broke away and looked at me. "I-I just want to tell her something."

They then nodded and went to go get Annie. When the door opened, I got a glimpse of what it was like outside. It was nighttime.

I wondered if Annie was even still awake. Then the door creaked open.
