Summary:
It's their first Halloween at their apartment and Soonyoung thinks they should totally prepare for the slew of trick-or-treaters knocking on their door. It's a great idea, right?
That's what Soonyoung thinks, until he sees Wonwoo's idea for a costume.
__________________________________________________________________________
In retrospect, Soonyoung admits to being an absolute sucker.
It's not that he's gullible, per se. It's just that when you've been with someone for as long as he's been with Wonwoo, you honestly learn and get to know what makes the other tick until it starts becoming a factor in your decision-making, a kind of non-negotiable or condition you take into account for even the simplest things, such as ordering food, buying gifts, even getting dressed.
He knows that when he brings home Wonwoo's favorite sweets, he ends up on Soonyoung's lap feeding him little bites and having Soonyoung suck the chocolate off his fingers, that when Wonwoo buys him weird little souvenirs from his book tours, he gets kisses all over his face from Soonyoung in exchange, and that when Soonyoung wears the skinny jeans he purchased on a whim, he gets groped all over their tiny apartment as soon as he gets home, until Wonwoo manages to nudge him towards the bedroom in the end.
So when Soonyoung suggests that they dress up and hand out candy for the Halloween trick-or-treaters, he's absolutely positive that he has to fight tooth and nail to sell the concept to his husband. Knowing Wonwoo as well as he does, he feels like he'll need to use extra puppy eyes to even have Wonwoo consider getting up from his bed to put on a costume and to hand out lollipops and candies to the kids in their building. Imagine his surprise when Wonwoo takes to the idea readily, even sounds eager to do it. He watches with bemusement as Wonwoo buys cookies and candies and packs them into little plastic bags so that it's easier to hand them out. When he asks Wonwoo what his plans are for a costume, he waves it off and tells him that "he'll see."
For his part, Soonyoung dresses in a long flowing black gown, cinched at the waist with a giant belt with a golden buckle. He sticks a pointy hat on top of his head and smiles at his reflection in the mirror, secretly pleased at how he looks. Idly, he wonders how Wonwoo would react to the striped blue stockings he has on under his garment, and to the thin choker around his neck. Wonwoo does have a bit of an oral fixation, and the choker brings attention to his clavicle, one of Wonwoo's favorite hickey spots, quite nicely.
What he doesn't expect, though, is Wonwoo's costume.
Wonwoo looks up at the strangled noise that comes out of the vicinity of the bedroom. He smirks at the sight of Soonyoung while he adjusts the sleeves of his shirt, buttoning it up at the wrists. "Well honey, don't you look a picture."
"Me?" Soonyoung tries his best not to drool as his eyes rake up and down his husband's lanky body. His dark brown hair is brushed off his forehead, and he has the slightest of eyeshadow on—a deep red that matches the burgundy of his shirt. Over the shirt, he had thrown on a dark blue brocade patterned suit jacket and black trousers that sat snugly over his hips. He looked nice, handsome, polished, smooth.
And then there were the gloves.
They had to be made of velvet, the way they wrapped around Wonwoo's fingers like so. They matched the wine color of his shirt, resting softly against his palms. Wonwoo keeps fussing at them, keeps tugging them to fit more snugly over his wrists.
