sorry for the slow update! I was on vacation and they didn't have internet. So here's chapter 2!!!
The stray of sunlight was coming into my room between the closed curtains, and I feel to warm and comfortable underneath my comforter to even get up. A couple of months of school have passed and I haven’t had a single day to even relax and sleep in. The atmosphere around town has changed during these past couple of months. It all started when our school’s history teacher was murdered. Bonnie started acting weird too, and Stefan’s brother is in town as well. The hardest thing to accept from all of that happened was when dad died last week during Founder’s Day. We’re not as close, but he’s still my dad. I can feel my mom’s pain, even when she puts up a strong front. I was pulled out of my thoughts when someone knocked on my door.
“Come in,” I said.
“Hi Honey. How are you?” my mom said as she came in my room and sat at the end of my bed.
“I’m okay, how about you?” I said and went over to hold her hand, “mom, you know I’ll always be here for you. If you need anything just tell me.”
“Of course, honey,” she said, “you better get ready now. People will be arriving soon.”
After my mom left, I got up and went to my closet to look for something to wear for the funeral. It didn’t take me long to get ready. I wore a black dress with a white cardigan and just put my hair up into a ponytail. When I finally pulled myself together, I went downstairs and faced everyone. As I walked around the house, there were a lot of “I’m sorry about your dad”, “condolence to your family”, “be strong”, and “we’re here for you”. It got to the point where it got really annoying that I started ignoring people. They only started paying attention to us since my dad’s dead. They probably don’t even know our names. Gena and I found our way to Tyler, who was at the front door.
“Hey guys,” Tyler said as we approached him and earning a smile from both of us. He then pointed his head towards a truck coming at the front of the house. As we stepped out of the house, we saw a guy with white shirt climbed out of the truck. We haven’t seen Uncle Mason in such a long time.
“So the black sheep returns,” Tyler said.
“Tyler?” Uncle Mason asked.
“Yeah,” shrugged Tyler.
“What happened to you? In my mind, you’re 12 years old,” Uncle Mason jokingly said to Tyler then pointed at us, “and the twins, you guys are bigger now. No longer babies.”
“Well, that’s 2 years older than the last time you saw me, Uncle Mason,” Tyler said.
“We’re just a year younger than Tyler, you know,” I said pointing to Gena and I with a smile.
"Come here guys,” Uncle Mason said and brought us in a group hug, “good to see you guys again.”
“It’s good to see you too,” said Tyler.
“Same here,” Gena said.
“Ditto,” I shrugged and leading him to the door, “come inside.”
Uncle Mason went up to my mom and greeted her. As I was walking up the stairs to go to my room Damon stopped me.
“Who’s that guy your mom’s talking to?” Damon asked.
“Oh that’s Uncle Mason, dad’s younger brother. Why?” I asked, “do you want me to introduce you to him?”
“No, no. Don’t worry about it,” Damon said shaking his head.
