Bella’s POV

I wake up feeling much better so I get up and look at my phone. 100% charged. I unplug my phone from the charger. I head downstairs and get my mom in the kitchen.

“Hello sweetheart, how come you home so early?” my mother asks me.

“I thought the school would’ve phoned you.” I say with a raised eyebrow.

“Nope they clearly don’t do that anymore.” My mom says while washing the dishes that were left in the sink.

“Oh I felt sick so my Maths sir said I should go home.” I say with my hands covering my face.

“Oh, so how are you feeling now?” she asks turning around to face me while drying her hands.

“I’m feeling much better after that nap.” I say moving my hands away from my face and putting them on the table in front of me.

Her eyes go wide as she looks at my neck. Her facial expression runs with concern.

“What type of sick did you feel?” she asks looking back at my face.

“It was this weird gut feeling that something was wrong.” I say to her.

“Honey?” my mom says.

“Yes mom”

“Where is your necklace?” my mom asks with a straight face.

“Oh, I think I might have lost it at that party we went to the other night.” I answer her looking down at my neck.

“The other day!” my mom starts yelling.

“Yeah I was going to tell you.” I say back.

“Oh really? Or weren’t you going to tell me at all, since you keeping a lot away from me now a days!” she yells at me.
I start feeling angry. My flesh starts getting warm as my blood begins to boil. ‘How can she think that?’

“I keep everything away from you? What a lie, you the one that is never home. You the one that never makes time for me. You think material things make me happy, buying me everything I want, well guess what, it doesn’t!” I yell back at her.

All of a sudden my mother backs up away from me. Have I made her so angry that she moves away from me? I get even angrier thinking about it. I grab my phone and storm out the house. I run to the back of the house to where my calming spot is. It’s this huge rock, I discovered during one of my melt downs, which lies behind my house in the woods. Funny thing is that you can see my bedroom window from it. I get to it and I start climbing. I get to the top of the rock and I just sit there.

Thinking of what my mother says makes me sad. We always use to be so close, but the moment we moved here we have been distant towards each other. Everyday it’s like a hi and bye type of conversation. I can feel the tears starting to form in my eyes, but before I start crying I hear something in the woods. I spin around to see what it is but there’s nothing there.

I stand up to see if anything is there. I begin to get worried. I look at my phone 17:46. I look up. I take a closer look. Damn! Is that Zaven walking my way without a shirt on! What’s he doing here? The wind blows and all I get is this sweet woodsy smell. Damn it smells good!

“Bella” Zaven says climbing up the rock. His muscles are twitching so it’s hard for me not to look.

“Zaven” I say with a straight face and then turn around to sit back down.

“Can we talk?” he asks standing right in front of me.

“Talk about what?” I ask looking up at him. Damn his tall.

“About the other night” he says sitting down in front of me.

“Nothing happen Zaven and it will stay like that!” I say raising my voice.

“I just want to know…” he says before I interrupt him.

“There nothing to know okay! Why don’t you go across the street and go make out with that girl like you were this morning instead of bothering me!” I say standing up ready to climb down the rock. I’m feeling furious so I climb down quickly, but before I can walk anywhere Zaven is right in front of me.

“How did you get down…never mind, just go away and leave me alone” I’m ragging in anger right now.

“Bella please, it wasn’t what it looked like” he says stopping me from going anywhere.

“Then what was it!” I say looking at him in his face. All of a sudden he looks at me and doesn’t say anything. I get even angrier by his silence. “THEN WHAT WAS IT!” I scream even louder.

“Bella?” he says lifting his hand to my face.

“What!” I say smacking his hand away.

“What’s wrong with your eyes?” He says still looking at my face.

“What you mean? There’s nothing wrong with my eyes! Are you trying to play the fool on me!” I say raising my voice.

“No, it’s a different colour,” he says looking at me “come I show you” he says dragging me to the nearest pond.

I look into the pond at my reflection. My blue/grey eyes are now full on light green. ‘What the heck!’ I look at Zaven with a shocked look. He looks back at me as if it’s normal for my eyes to change to light green.

“This is weird.” I say walking away from the pond, still feeling angry.

“What you mean?” he says walking at the back of me.

“How does my eyes change colour? This is the first time I have ever seen my eyes change colour. It’s not normal!” I say getting worried.

I stop in my track as I bump into Zaven’s chest, no noticing he was in front of me. He wraps his arms around me. All my anger, concern and worry slip away. How can he bring so much calmness to me? We stand there for a while. Tingles’ rushing through my flesh, my heart telling me this is right. I start realizing it’s getting late and I start pushing myself slowly away from Zaven.

“It’s late” I say as he lets go.

“Yeah I guess. Come I walk you back home” he says moving next to me.

“Sure.” I say as we start walking to my house. We walk in silence. Finally we reach my house. It’s awkward.

“I’m going to head on inside.” I say motioning to the door.

“No problem. See you tomorrow at school” he says smiling.

“Okay. Bye Zaven” I say smiling back at him.

“Goodnight Bella” he says and motions me to go inside.

I open the door and give him one last smile goodbye. As I go inside and close the door I look through the glass piece of the door. Zaven is nowhere to be seen.
