Hello, Lovies! I apologize for my chapters being so short. I can’t help that, I multitask while writing and…yeah, that equals short chapters. Anyway, I hope you’ll like this chapter! I put some thought into and planned it out, unlike everything else I write which is pretty spontaneous. Haha! Enjoy.

               Chapter 9

Okay so he isn’t giving me a raise or a baby. No, Mr. Chen is giving me a frikin vacation. A vacation! I mean who the hell does he think he is? He isn’t even the top man yet. He’s still beneath Ms. Base, the woman who is currently still my boss.

I really just can’t believe this. The words are lodged somewhere deep in my brain about how appalled I am about this. Working is my life. I just can’t stop for week and relax. What in the world does that even mean?! Relax?

“Ms. Oscar,” Mr. Chen said, impatiently. He must have been talking while I was mentally ranting.

“Yes?” I said curtly.

“Let me explain your vacation,” He sat behind his big desk and stared at me. Probably waiting for an outburst. And yes, I did indeed begin to yell.

“Why do I even need a vacation?!”

“You’ve never taken one and you work overtime,” He answered this, looking at his computer screen.

“But it’s not even a real vacation if you’re telling me what to do!” I almost shrieked at him. It was unprofessional but I really wished to strangle him right now. My job was the only thing that kept me going in life. That and Joshua…everything else was in black and white.

“Exactly. It will be a job vacation,” He said as he stood up, which made me sit down.

He was so frikin tall…it was an automatic response for me. How in the world do guys get so tall? Do they go on that stretchy thing like in Willy Wonka?

“A job vacation? Isn’t that a bit contradictory?” I asked. I could feel excitement bubbling up within me though. I could relax and still work. It was like a dream come true for me. Naturally, I don’t really think relaxing and working go together but maybe somehow…

“Yes. It is,” He flashed me a dazzling smile. I wonder what kind of toothpaste he uses because his teeth are very white. I swear they almost blinded me.

“You will be working at a nearby hotel to help with cooking,” He said as he leaned on his desk and crossed his arms. He had really nice biceps. I wonder if he works out.

Of course he works out, he wouldn’t have muscles otherwise, I scolded myself.

“Oh,” That sounded pretty easy to me. I’m still mad about him for giving me a vacation, yes I know I am a very complex girl, but I could deal with it. Maybe, if it’s on the right week, Joshua could come spend it with me.

“I will be accompanying you,” Mr. Chen concluded.

I blinked. I really hope this wasn’t sexual black mail. In my past jobs as a chef many of the top chefs tried to blackmail me. They thought because of my weight I’d be easy to get in bed and blackmail. They quickly learned the opposite after I usually kneed them where it counts. Buuut then I’d be out of a job.

“It is my chain of hotels you are visiting,” He continued, “I would like to see how they are going. Ms. Oscar, you may leave now.” He said this all conversationally. And he dismissed me like I was in middle school or something.

“You’re not the boss of me,” I mumbled underneath my breath, as I walked towards the door.

“What was that, Ms. Oscar?” Mr. Chen stood up and stared at me.

“Nothing. I just said, where is the vacation schedule?” I asked this as sweetly as possible. I wanted him to think I was now happy about this vacation. I kind of am, but the majority of me is not.

“It’s in your work mailbox,” He smirked. “I suggest you hurry up and check it. We leave tomorrow.” He then closed his office door in my shocked face.

That son of a bitch!
