Chapter 2

"Joshua!" I shrieked at my 8 year old brother, "Get out of my room!"

He quickly put my bra down and ran.

Gawd, why were little brothers so annoying. I mean you don't know about annoying little brothers until you've met mine. He was super smart and went to a private school for smart little children. He'll be graduating out of high school by 8th grade.

Some people would see the perks in having a smart brother. There are absolutely no perks. What so ever. All he does is state annoying facts that I don't know and makes me feel stupid. He also makes me feel like I'm his little despite he'd only 4'4.

I put my stuff down on my bed and got out my black hello kitty computer. I quickly logged into the chat room. Happy to see Veronica was online.

PrincessGurl:

Hey! Guess what V?

TheDiva:

What? Btw, you're interrupting my homework time.

Okay! I don't know what's up with her. We're usually always doing homework while we chat. Jeez.

PrincessGurl:

Drake asked me out today! Me! Ahhhhh..

I just had to share my excitement with her. This was the first time ever that a guy has asked me out. They actually avoided me like I was contagious or something. It really wasn't pleasant.

TheDiva:

Oh really? Wow. That's nice. Listen I gotta go L, bye.

TheDiva has left chatroom

I frowned. I would've thought she would be happy for me. But then again I do know she's been acting weird lately an her mom and dad are getting a divorce so maybe I shouldn't be so harsh on her. Maybe I'm being a bad friend.

I get out my phone and text her, Lets go shopping tomorrow!

I know she won't answer until tomorrow. But that's okay. Tomorrow I had to pick up Josh from his school, since neither mom or dad could do so.

I decided this would be a good time if any to buy my plane ticket to Canada to visit my big sister this summer. She kept nagging me about coming up to visit her and her husband so maybe I'll surprise her with my presence.

I got up and headed downstairs for a snack. Just an apple. I was trying to lean off junk food. I noticed my dad's office door open and poked my head in.

My father was just staring at his computer screen. He was a very famous author, John Dark is his pen name. To me? He's just plain old dad. I never tell anyone my dad's pen name. Even Veronica doesn't know. She calls him Mr. Oscar.

"Dad?" I say softly. I hoped I wasn't interrupting him or anything. That would not be good.

"Come in, sweetie," He looked at me with a smile as I entered. Usually if we were interrupting him he'd just say I'm working in a gruff voice. I sat on a couch in the room.

"How's the writing going?" I ask him. I love my dad, we can talk forever. I tell him everything. Everything.

"It's going well," He smiled,  "I'm almost finished and we'll have time to spend together." He said.

"That's great!" I grinned. He was almost always in this office. If he wasn't here he was at the library in a private office.

"Maybe we could take a family vacation. Of course you're brother wouldn't be to happy with me pulling out of school," He snorted.

I shook his head. How right he was.

"Make us some hot chocolate. What's bothering you sweetie?" He asked.

I got up and went over to his machine that did everything when it came to beverages. I made myself coffee and him hot chocolate.

"Well...it's just Veronica." I set the hot chocolate down in front of him and took a sip of my coffee.

"She's been acting real strange and it's bothering me," I sighed.

"Well....maybe you should try and make some new friends?" My dad didn't like that Veronica was my only friend.

"Daad!" I groaned.

"Just saying sweetheart..," He looked concerned.

I really should consider trying to expand my friendship from 1 person. It was kinda a smart idea.

My phone beeped and I checked it. It was a message from Veronica telling me that she was up for it. I smiled. Shopping always made Veronica happy.

"Luna. What'd I say about having you're phone at the table?" My mother asked me with a smile.

"Don't check it at the table," I said with a sigh.

"Yep. Put it away sweetheart," She ate some spinach and some got stuck in her teeth. My mother looked like a freaking model. She was an interior decorator, with her own show and everything. It was funny to see spinach hanging out her teeth.

Josh looked at her with an raised eyebrow, "You have something in your teeth, mother."

"Josh..what did I say about you calling me mother?" she asked as she scrapped the piece out her tooth.

"Don't. Okay, Mommy." Josh wrote that down in his composition of everything. He was just a perfect child like that.

I wish I was a perfect child. I was actually a mistake unlike Joanne, Michael, and Josh who were had on purpose. Joanne had perfect grades throughout her life, has a well known husband, and owns her own successful talk show. When in high school Michael got like 300 million scholarships...and that was when he was in 10th grade. Josh already had 10 college professor teaching him and he was only in 2nd grade.

Me? I was just trying to lose a little weight. I didn't want to loose my curves, just the excess fat is all. I didn't want to be skinny like the women in magazines. They were all anorexic

"Mom! I have to get a dress for the dance. I have a date!"  I felt accomplished when I said this. If only a little. Joanne and Michael both had like fifty million boo's throughout high school. This was the first time someone was asking me out. First time. Little girls also went gaga over my little brother. He looked like he could be a model for those Sears magazines.

"That's great! Is Veronica coming?" My mom said with a perky smile. It made me feel awesome whenever my mom gave me one of those smiles. It was an always thing with my brothers and sister. They always got that smile.

"Yeah, she is." I said with a grin. We always went with my mom shopping. My mom should own her own fashion design show. She knew fashion like the back of her hand. She was just that good.

So was Joanne, Michael, and Josh.
