Natalia stirred awake, disturbed by the hunger she felt. When she opened her eye she noticed right away she was back in the compound, and back in the room she and Elijah had once shared. She looked to around the room and saw Elijah standing at the edge of her bed. Once their eyes made contact she saw him breathe a sigh of relief. She felt movement on her side and she looked over to see Kristof with a blood bag in his hand.

"Drink up."

Natalia eagerly grabbed the bag and drank until it was dry.

Kristof held up another blood bag, asking if she wanted another. She grabbed that as well and drank until she started to feel her strength return.

"Thanks," she told him.

Kristof grabbed Natalia's hand in his and held it. She saw that Kristof was struggling to come up with something to say. "I don't know what I would have done if something happened to you." He told her.

Natalia squeezed his hands to reassure him. "I'm okay, it'll be okay." Kristof and Natalia shared a look before Elijah coughed, reminding him of his presence.

Kristof rolled his eyes, "I'll leave you two to talk." Kristof stood up and placed a kiss on Natalia's forehead before exiting the room; both him and Elijah glaring at one another.

Natalia slowly sat up further on the bed and Elijah sat next to her. Their was a moment of silence, neither knowing how to start he conversation.

"Thank you, for finding me," she told him, grateful.

"Seemed like you were handling yourself just fine," he said, sounding impressed. "I saw, everything that she used on you, how you managed the strength to fight back," Elijah shook his head. "You are a warrior," he said, looking into her eyes.

"She threatened the ones I cared for, that alone was enough to give me the strength I needed."

Their was another moment of silence, Elijah slowly moved his hand towards hers, placing it softly on top of hers. Natalia allowed the contact, feeling the need to be comforted. "I was afraid," he started to say. "I didn't know where to start with finding you, I have not been that fearful in so long," he said softly.

Natalia felt her heart tug at his confession.

"I want you to stay here, with us."

"Elijah," she started to protest.

"Hear me out, it seems that my enemies have become our enemies. We need to find out who they are, and take them down. You've been turned, and now attacked because of me, I do not want you alone."

"Now we're better together?" She asked bitterly.

She didn't mean it come out, but it had.

"We were always better together, just took me a little longer to realize."

"Yeah, me dying and being attacked."

Elijah let out a sigh. "I will never be able to tell you enough how sorry I am that you have had to pay for my transgressions. But now I am going to protect you, I will let no more harm come to you, I will make sure of that," he said determined.

Natalia mulled over his offer. Despite their differences, he was right. This was the second time she had been targeted. If they were to find those who were responsible, they needed to work together to find them. Knowing that she would only be in more danger if the ones who were after them remained at large.

"I'll stay." Elijah let out a sigh of relief. "But only if Kristof stays as well."

Elijah's eyes widened at her, "You cannot be serious," he scoffed.

"Of course I am, Elijah, she threatened him. He could be in danger, and he is my best friend. Either he stays or I go."

Elijah looked torn, his jaw set in distaste at the idea of him staying with them.

"If it will make you happy," he replied in defeat.

"It will," she interjected.

Elijah stood up, "Fine."

Elijah walked out of the room, clearly upset. He started to make his way down the steps until Klaus stopped him.

"You sure made that easy for her, letting her lover stay with us."

"They are not lovers," Elijah replied, not entirely sure if he was stating the truth.

"Sure," he said sarcastically. "But this will definitely not help your cause in winning her back."

"If having him here helps Natalia with her stay here, then that is what I shall do."

Elijah was willing to do whatever he could to not only protect her, but keep her happy. He's already made enough mistakes, and it was time to make up for them.
