After some contemplation, Natalia had decided to stay in New Orleans; but only for a few days. She had missed the city she once called home. This way she could spend more time with Hope. She and Hope had been having lunch together while she was here and managed to squeeze in a shopping trip as well. Natalia spoiled Hope, getting her new paint and brushes, along with sketchbooks . It had all been feeling so normal, the Mikaelson's were giving her time to spend with and Hope and they had yet to bother her.

Natalia had also called to let Kristof know what was going on. The last time she called him was when Rebekah was dragging her back to New Orleans, but only had gotten his voicemail. Kristof had been her closest friend since she turned. She knew she told Rebekah that they had gone their separate ways after the first year she was a vampire, but the truth was they had stayed in contact with one another ever since they met. She didn't want Rebekah getting the wrong idea about him.

But without Kristof, who knew what would have become of Natalia. He taught her everything she knew, how to compel, how to control her bloodlust, how to fight.

When she first turned, her emotions were heightened, and it was hard to control herself. She thought about how she never wanted to be a vampire, the human life she had always wanted that was now taken away from her. Kristof was the one to help her through it, reminding her of all the good things she could accomplish as a vampire. Yes, her life was changed, but she could either drown in her sorrows and be miserable, or embrace her new life where she can live a better life.

Being a vampire made her stronger, not only physically, but mentally. When she was human she was naive, but now she was tougher. No longer a frail girl but a fierce woman. Kristof was the one who told her to embrace her power, her 'gift' as he called it. And it was because of that Natalia was who she is today, and she never felt more alive.

When Kristof came knocking on her hotel door she wasn't entirely surprised, she knew he would show up sooner or later.

"Kristof!" Natalia wrapped herself around him in a tight embrace. "I'm so happy you're here."

Kristof sat her down and gave her a chaste kiss on the cheek. "As am I, I have missed you so much," he told her.

"And I've missed you."

Natalia led him inside and offered him a blood bag from her mini fridge.

With a chuckle, Kristof graciously accepted and sat down on the couch where Natalia joined him.

"It's so good to see you," she told him smiling. "How are you?"

"I think the real question is how are you doing?"

"I'm fine, trust me," taking a sip of her blood bag.

Kristof gave her a knowing look and Natalia rolled her eyes at him.

"Fine," she huffed. "Things are just, okay."

"Did you see him yet?" Natalia knew who he was referring to.

"Yes, only briefly."

"And?"

"And nothing, nothing happened. Said a few things, yelled a little bit and that was all."

"Maybe you should have a real conversation with him, you know. Tell him how you feel."

Natalia scoffed. "Really now?"

"Yeah," Kristof shrugged. "Might be good for you."

Natalia laughed, "I don't think so, you don't know Elijah."

"I don't, but I'm sure he would welcome the conversation."

"Yes well, I simply don't want to."
