Runaway Thoughts

After falling to my death, I decided to talk to the mad scientist since there was nothing else to do. "Sooo.....could you maybe let us go now?"

"Why? Why should I do that?" A loud voice boomed.

"I don't know, maybe because I don't want you to remove my brains or something!"

"Well....you make an excellent point- NO! Are you crazy?"

"Why yes, yes I am." I muttered. The next thing I knew I was sitting in a cage, surrounded by barbed wire with a sleeping Garnet sitting next to me. "Garnet! Wake up!" I shook her until she did.

"Wha....what? Is it time for school yet?" She asked while yawning, making me yawn too.

"No.... But it is time for us to leave this place." I shook her awake again, "Come on, we need to make an escape plan!" I said in a hushed tone, trying not to cause the doctor to gain any suspicion. Come on!!!! I thought.

"Hey idiot! Yeah I'm talking to you! What are you going to do to us?!" Garnet screamed.

"It's for me to know and for you to find out! Now shut up before I make you!" He said evilly. I could almost picture the evil laugh coming out of his stupid face.

Hey, look is that a vent under us? Garnet said in my head.

Ohhh.... I think it is! I thought excitedly. I moved over to see if it could open easily. It did.

Okay, I will distract the doctor, while you leave and then I'll follow closely behind.

Got it! I said.

Dr.Clementine looked at us."Wait. Before you leave I want to tell you something."

Wait how did he know we were going to leave? Garnet asked.

"I can read people's thoughts." He answered.

"But only people born of the Bishop family have powers." I said straight out, no need to hide the secret now.

"I am part of the Bishop family!" He crowed.

"No way! You can't be related to us. It's not possible, how can you BE related to us!" Garnet blabbered.

" I am, my full name is Clementine Read Bishop, and I became a scientist to find how our powers work. You two are the only ones that have the same power." Dr. Clementine yelled, sounding very frustrated. While he was talking Garnet had slipped out, now it was time for me.

"Wait!! I......I'm your fa...."

"No! No no no no no no! This can't be, we have a father, and he's at our house."

"Listen, I have proof..." He then showed me mine and garnet's birth certificates. "See...I AM YOUR FATHER!!!"

"How? Why didn't my mom ever tell me." I asked, more to myself than him.

"She didn't want you to know how disgraced the family was when I became a scientist. They knew I was studying our powers and what causes them. And they knew that if someone else knew about our family then our world would end. I still went on to be a great scientist, but at a great cost, you guys wouldn't be my children anymore." While he was talking, the cage disappeared along with the barbed wire.
