Insecure

Y/n was humming along to the song that was currently blasting through her headphones as she walked into her and cal's shared house.. She pulled the headphones out of her ear as she called out his name. "Cal?" She called out into the house but didn't receive an answer. "He said that he'd be home." She mumbled to herself before deciding to put all her things down and look for him. Their shared bedroom was the first room she checked and she noticed that all the lights were turned off, except for the closet. As Y/n quietly tip-toed towards the closet, she heard small sniffles emerge from the small closet. Y/n poked her head in and the sight made her want to cry herself.

Cal was sat on the floor of the closet with his back pushed up against the small dresser in there. He wasn't wearing a shirt and was sat there with just some sweatpants on. His eyes were bloodshot red and there were small tears trickling down his cheeks. It seemed as though he decided to stop wiping them away a long while ago. "Calum?" Y/n questioned again to grab his attention. Calum's head whipped up to look at her and instantly reached over to tug a t-shirt up and over his head. "Y/n? You're early?" He questioned to take the attention away from him and his pathetic breakdown. "They let me out early, Cal what happened?" Y/n asked and Calum knew that she wouldn't laugh, would she? "Do you think that maybe I'm getting a little too fat, Y/n?" Y/n's heart broke as she saw the 21 year old cover himself and look up at her with heartbroken eyes. "Calum." Y/n breathed out and gently fell down to her knees before wrapping Cal into a gigantic bear hug. "Cal you could never be too fat,never you hear me?" Calum burrowed his head further into her neck and Y/n's breath hitched as she felt tears pour out onto her skin. "Calum, you hear me?" Y/n needed Calum to understand that he could never be anything but perfect. "I-I understand." Calum whispered before clutched onto Y/n's body and let his tears pour out onto the skin of her neck. He could never be anything but perfect, in her eyes and should never seem as though he is anything but perfect in his own eyes.
