"When was the last time you talked to Steph?" Draymond asked.
Klay stared pensively at the ground. "Honestly, it's been a while."
"Why?"
Klay arched an eyebrow. "What do you mean why?"
"I thought you guys were together, y'know?"
"Oh."
"Oh?"
"Dray, some stuff happened after he retired and it just kinda went downhill."
Draymond nodded in silence. He glanced at Klay, sheepishly. "Sorry to hear."
Klay sighed. "Don't worry about it."
He put up a shot before Coach Kerr could call the players into a team huddle to end the practice session.
"Y'know, it's been 15 years in the league for us," Draymond reminisced. "That's a pretty long damn time."
Klay chuckled. "Heh, yeah."
And then they were called to their team huddle.Klay was resting on his couch, swiping through his Instagram feed. His old dog, Rocco, was sleeping at his feet, and Klay could feel his buddy snoring. A sudden knock echoed through and Rocco was too tired to react.
Klay slowly picked himself up and opened the door.
"Steph?"
"Klay," Steph greeted. "May I come in?"
"Please do."
Klay closed the door behind his old teammate and they walked into the living room.
"What brings you here?"
"There's something I've forgotten in your house," Steph responded.
"Dude, it's been years since you've been here," Klay reminded. "I probably lost or threw away whatever you're looking for."
Steph shrugged. "Mind if I look around anyways?"
Klay considered the fact that his old teammate randomly barged into his house without much to say except whatever would help him find his item. Then Klay ignored that thought. After all, it was about time for the Splash Brothers to have a reunion.
"Go ahead, Steph."
He immediately headed towards the bedroom. Of course he did.
Klay noticed Steph's thick beard which had grown over the time, but was still kept in good shape, along with his hair. He definitely looked older after the years, but still seemed quite young due to his baby face. Klay on the other hand had an older appearance, but no older than his age of 34.
Steph rummaged through the drawers, under the bed, and in the closet, making a devastating mess. Klay didn't really care. He was more thrilled that his old teammate was in his house again.
"Need help?"
"No," Steph responded. Of course. He was always stubborn.
Klay began picking up the thrown clothes and folded them. He sighed. "You're not gonna find it."
"Where'd you put it?"
"Put what?"
"The thing."
"What thing?"
"Y'know," Steph frustratingly muttered. "Our thing. Well, it was our thing."
"Step—"
"Nevermind. I'll come back another time."
Steph began to walk out the room until Klay took a firm grasp of his old teammate.
"Why are you here?" Klay demanded a response.
"I was looking for the thing."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Steph shamefully looked to the floor. "I wanted to see if you still kept that one gift I gave you for your 25th birthday."
"Oh wait," Klay remembered, "the snow globe? The one that said 'K + S'?"
Steph nodded.
"Y-yeah, I do have it. Why do you ask?"
A frown creeped onto him teammate's face.(Scrapped)
