☀️Chapter 1~Lost In A Cave

Rapunzel is now nine and a half months pregnant.

Eugene and herself have just escaped from the North Kingdom's Castle and are currently on the run being chased by the Stabbington brothers through the forest outside Rapunzel's own kingdom.

Unaware of what the two want from them, but knowing that they could be after their little girl, they aren't taking any chances. However, they do believe that the brothers could after their unborn child, because she may possess the same magical power that Rapunzel had all those years ago.

But the couple has been running from them for five-days and now Rapunzel is starting to get worried about her baby girl, every now and then she would feel cramps low in her abdomen as they moved, eventually it started getting too much for her to wave off and say it was nothing.

Eugene was leading her through the forest, hoping to get far enough away from the North Kingdom and get home, before Rapunzel went into labor to have his child, his worry may have been a warning because she would be happy just walking side by side with him. All of a sudden she stopped and whimpered as if in pain but she kept saying it was nothing, he still felt unsure but he knew they had to get home and he hoped she would tell him if something was wrong, but as they were getting close to the castle his focus became more on that then his wife.

But finally, Rapunzel stopped as she felt the cramps start to press painfully against her belly,
"Eugene stop please, I can't go any further" Rapunzel cried in exhaustion with her hand on her belly and the other gripping Eugene's arm. She was really scared because her due date was really soon and the cramps were getting severe.

"Rapunzel we can't stop, we have to keep going, Corona is about 3 hours away..." Eugene said as he grabbed her hand and began pulling her behind him, 'The brothers' aren't that far behind us but I know she's getting tired and this chase is beginning to hurt her' He thought to himself briskly.

"Eugene please if we keep going like this..." She paused and pulled her hand out of his grasp, "I could go into labor" Eugene turned to her, looking at her tired face to her rounded belly, "And that scares me... and even if we get to safety, what if I go into labor then, they'll still catch up to us and we'll be in even worse trouble..." She cried but Eugene continued walking; he didn't want her to get hurt, but Corona wasn't far away.

Rapunzel getting more distressed cried, "Eugene listen to me please I'm exhausted!" with a tone of panic in her voice she grabbed and pulled on his hand. He stopped and looked at her and once he heard the panic in her voice he said softly, "ok... ok Blondie, but you have to trust me ok?" Eugene replied fearing her contractions could start from the stress and exhaustion, Eugene suddenly found himself having a flashback to the talk with her mother Queen Arianna, Eugene listened to every word and had nightmares for months afterwards and now seeing her so scared and knowing she needed to rest, he decided it was a good idea.

So they found a cave which Eugene knew was there from many years ago, Eugene then allowed her to rest there, it was dark and creepy but at least it was warm and for now safe.

They went into the cave were Rapunzel found a log and started to build a fire with leafs and twigs that where all over the cave floor, she put some in her pocket just in case they needed them later, then laid down it wasn't comfy but at least she could rest and with Eugene by her side she knew she was safe for now, Eugene stayed up for a while making sure she was ok but he fell asleep shortly after the sun went down.

They rested for maybe 6 hours until Rapunzel woke up hearing something outside the cave, rustling and leafs being crushed, getting really scared she woke up her sleeping husband,
"Eugene... Eugene wake up" She said with a whisper as she shook his shoulder, "Mmmh what?" Eugene asked still half asleep, then (rustle, rustle) Two shadows danced on the cave walls reflecting from the moonlight and made Rapunzel jump and she grabbed his wrist.

Eugene got up hearing the noise and having feeling Rapunzel grab his wrist, the grip brought his attention to her terrified face, but as he got up he ripped the bottom of his shirt on the log he was laying on, "Ugh!" he gasped having he accidentally cut his hip. 

"Are you ok?" She asked him worriedly.

"I'm fine, don't worry about me" Eugene replied as he put his hand on his hip, he was bleeding but it was only a small cut, he tied a strip of cotton around his hip so he didn't get sick from infection, he looked to the cave entrance and saw the shadows coming around.

Eugene lifted his right arm to Rapunzel getting protectively paranoid then furthermore said,
"Rapunzel, go to the back of the cave, there is a tunnel at the end...it should lead you to Corona's bridge... go get home I'll meet you there" However the noises started getting closer and louder, Eugene turned around and noticed the shadows were just around the corner.

He then said in a panicky voice, "Rapunzel Please Go... Now!!" Eugene instructed fearing for her and their child's safety as he put his hands on her expanded abdomen, "What about you?" she asked worried, he was more than her husband he was her friend and she didn't want anything to happen to him.

But he replied with an order however she knew it meant to stay safe, "I'll be fine just please go and take this... it's a walkie-talkie one of your crazy aunt's inventions, so if you need help you can contact me" he handed her the walkie-talkie and Rapunzel believing he would be alright, started heading to the back of the cave to the tunnel, with one hand holding the walkie-talkie and her other arm wrapped tightly around her swollen belly then, "Hey!"

"Gasp"

She turned around thinking whoever it was had found them, she looked at Eugene with watery eyes, but he said, "Go-go get to the tunnel," Eugene said really scared that those people would hurt his family, Rapunzel just gazed into his eyes, "Eugene, be careful," She said with Love then continued heading to the tunnel.

Eugene looked at her as she was hurrying to the tunnel and said with all his heart,
"You, be careful" Then he looked at the shadows and ran to hide just as the people were at the entrance...

"Hey did you hear that someone's in there," said a voice that sounded slithery which was moving closer to the cave's entrance, "Are you sure?" asked another voice sounding gravely and excitedly, "Yeah... yeah, I'm sure" replied the voice that sounded slithery.

Then for a frightening second, Eugene realised he knew those voices and his heart sank,
"Oh, God... it's the Stabbington Brothers how did they find us, I thought we were clear of them, Rapunzel please tell me your Safe" Eugene said panicking under his breath realising it was the brothers and they were getting closer to the entrance.

Meanwhile, Rapunzel was almost at the end of the cave, when she came to a dead-end, "Oh, you have got to be kidding me... (deep breathe) No," She said with a tone of worry in her voice as tears trickled down her cheeks, she turned the walkie-talkie on and contacted Eugene.

"Eugene the tunnel... it's blocked, I can't get through!?!" she whispered with tears starting to fall down her cheek, "WHAT!! (uhh) hold on I'll think of something, just stay where you are ok... and um Rapunzel it's-it's the brothers, they're the ones outside the cave" Eugene replied quite worried, should he have told her that it was the Stabbington Brothers, maybe it was for the best that she knew, that way she could at least prepare for them if they managed to get past him, Eugene didn't know if they were wanting Rapunzel or their baby.

"What Eugene you have got to be careful, please... I don't want you getting hurt" She said in a seriously scared voice, Eugene didn't win the last fight with them and nearly got both of them killed.

But she knew he was strong and wasn't about to let anything happen to her and their child, "I will, just stay safe and call me if you need anything, ok," he said still seriously scared because she was so close to her due date and if her waters broke in here they were going to be in trouble, "I will, I love you, Eugene!!" She said and then hung up.

Eugene said in a low whisper, "Rapunzel I love you more than anything" but then he turned, he knew that the brothers where ruthless and would do anything to get what they wanted, "Ok Eugene think-think, I cant make a move without getting caught by those two... but I have to do something, AHH!!" Eugene asked himself extremely annoyed that he couldn't think of anything to get his family out safely.
